Would It Be Possible To Do One More Little Thing For Ravenous Hydra?

6.1 introduced a price reduction for item 3074 , one of my favorite items in this game. Now, of course, cheaper is always better when the stats stay the same, but I can't help but feel like this buff isn't really in the right direction. Back in S5, this item had one strength aside from its stats and AOE, and that was how fluid its build process was. Unlike item 3072 item 3031 and maybe evenitem 3156 , you almost never had to hold onto gold and go back into lane without any growth in combat stats with item 3074 . Now, however, FINISHING this item is as painful as saving up for item 1038. My personal opinion is that rather than reducing item 3074 's overall cost, we should drastically reduce the recipe cost, but break it up into more, smaller items. Maybe add two item 1036 , or a item 1037 , into the formula, but bring the combining cost back down to about 500-600 gold. Now, THAT is the hydra that I know and love, and I wonder how many other players feel the same.

Currently here's the recipe we're looking at.

item 3077 item 1053 item 1036 sum of their parts for AD, as all other pieces are accountable for is 55 I think the only way to cheapen the combine cost would be to swap the longsword for a pickaxe. Doing this would swap 525 gold out of the combine cost and shift it into the items. You wouldn't want to have to deal with building 4-5 items for the combine cost, that would be horrific for your inventory. The AD from the items would then be 70, meaning combine still gets you some additional AD, as well as the other additional stats.

I think the combine cost is 1050 now? This would make it a combine cost of 525. I think that'd be an agreeable combine cost in my opinion.

Just add a pickaxe into the formula, like item 3077 +item 1053 +item 1037 +item 1036 , it wouldn't be too detrimental, would it?

Well then you would have to raise the ad of the hydra wouldn't you?

To me it clogs your inventory and then doing that results in you having more AD than the item you're building it into.

well yeah, but adding a pickaxe like that gives more ad than you get in the hydra normally correct? (his way not your way)

Exactly, I apparently responded to you instead of him. Not sure how that happened.

But yeah, the sum of the parts can't be more than the item you're building them into.
