So, should we talk star dragon strategies yet?

What do you guys think will be crucial items/masteries/runes/etc. for Sol?

Here's my thoughts:

#Items Essential item 3027 item 3020 item 3116 item 3157 Situational item 3001 item 3151 item 3135 item 3089 item 3110 item 3174 item 3003

#Runes MPen reds Flat AR yellows Flat MR blues Flat AP quints

#Masteries Probably 12/18/0, Thunderlord Keystone

Meant to be AP tanky rather than raw AP so that you can survive a hit or two, while also having enough mana to use Sol's W without burning out after 8 seconds. I would avoid Archangel's, personally, due to extreme costs and due to Rod of Ages also providing health.

Actually, you want CDR boots. As he is a mana builder, you won't get CDR from item 3174 or item 3165 . Second, Rylai's actually makes it a lot harder to keep your orbs on people, as you have to be constantly readjusting your position to keep them in the loop with the slow. The build I used on the PBE was RoA, CDR boots, RoA, Luden's, Zhyona's, Deathcap.

Probably a pretty good build, and you could switch out the second RoA for a Void Staff or Abyssal Scepter.

Lastly, you don't want Tear items; he doesn't use abilities that much, as the majority of his damage is from his orbiting stars, part of his passive. Also you don't take mana regen on a champion that builds flat mana
