Keep his new look but just give him his old kit back, this rework was such a failure and infinetely more cancerous/harder to balance than he was pre rework. I garuantee you Riot is just gonna ignore him after they clipped his wings.

I made a post a while back when the rework and new look was put into action how much I just in general wanted the old Aatrox back and the new one reverted. I cannot begin to explain how overpowered and amazing it felt to play him while knowing no one else did or thought he was any good. I remember my last game I had with him before the rework patch. I went 9/0 to something, some amount of assists (ranked game). I got an S+ and really enjoyed the whole idea of damaging yourself to inflict more with his W and then comboing it with the passive to really do some absurd damage a lot of players never expect.
The new aatrox is fine even though I hate playing him because I know I could be doing so much better with the old. But it's just not appealing. I feel like all I'm doing is trying to trade better than my lane opponent and killing them takes forever because they're given so much breathing room to avoid me and the amount of times I need to land full combo after full combo just forces them into playing a little safe or constantly backing or waiting for jungle pressure. I'M NOT ACTUALLY KILLING THEM or forcing them into a scenario where a kill is guaranteed if I land everything or things chain react accordingly. The most I'll get is like a flash or whatever because the problem is they have plenty of time to just walk away or escape unless I have ult. My cooldowns are too long in the beginning and I have no attack speed so everything comes from landing his kit or catching up with his ult etc. The play style makes dark harvest a good choice right now but with the old aatrox it was simply a case where it didn't matter. What I mean by this is if you knew they had made a mistake or whiffed something the punish was sooo much more severe and unless they flash out of the Q leap knock-up they'd die. Flashing after the knock up doesn't help because the damage has already been done and you just simply flash after them and do one or 2 more basic attacks or let his W proc the 3rd hit.
Either way the only reason I play the new aatrox now is to try and feel that sense of pride and power I yielded with the old kit. It really was amazing. I promise to keep my word if aatrox is ever reverted and I get an email or message from riot in the future, not that that's going to ever happen haha. I've been playing League for years now, since I was year 9 in school, I'm 24 now; I'm probably going to still continue playing it a lot in my off time because I enjoy the dueling aspect/feeling created from solo laning. It'd be nice if Aatrox was ever reverted to the old or allowed to be played again in some fashion.

Shiroe Okazaki4 votesThe new aatrox only has one thing that was like the old one. Thats the revive. Even now he has just a ton of balance issues and its not like he's too hard to play with now anyways. The old one was kinda like jax if you put it in less skill terms. Good based off items and runes.

I rather have a champion with a good play rate then a high win rate since a high play rate means people like them or think they can win with them rather then just a group of mains playing a champion that makes him have a good win rate like who cares if a is champion bad or good if more people play him then old aartox that means the rework is successful since having fun champions in my mind is more important then having a good champion boring champion.
Also i played jax/Irelia because I was bored of playing my usual champions and wanted to see how far I can get with them in ranked I do not main them.

That and its insanely over stat. The new ones harder to balance than the old one. I could easily be wrong about this but the new one has already gotten more changes than the old one. Even bigger changes than the old one.

Pre-rework Aatrox had exactly two states of balance: Useless and overpowered. There was absolutely no middle ground possible with his kit.
New Aatrox at least has the slightest chance of ever being balanced, and any chance, no matter how small, is greater than 0.

Meanwhile new aatrox had a 45% winrate pre-nerfs, I wonder what Riot will do when it hits the 30's Pre-rework aatrox could use a touch up but his kit should still be mostly the same if they revert him. I'd argue conqueror aatrox before he was reworked was a strong tank counter but not unbalanced

Juggernauts are supposed to be marked by their lack of mobility unless it's on like an ult. Who knew it'd have problems giving something the damage/sustain of a juggernaut, but still giving it some mobiltiy.

I can COMPLETELY attest to the desire for him to be reverted to an attack speed drain focused dps champ.
I am even owner of the group with the tag ATROX.. But I refuse to play the reworked kit, they play with the numbers to make him viable/trash tier but overall I just miss playing the old kit, the new one feels so clunky, why not play riven? At least he was unique before. I felt like managing the old W passive was truly a skill only the best Aatrox players truly mastered, indeed switching from DPS to heal mid-swing was truly a play making kit in disguise.. i just hope someone at riot creative team considers these in my requests, i really really don't like new Aatrox, and i don't know many who do - my Aatrox club was full of members, now just me and 1 other guy, neither of us play Aatrox anymore..
