[PBE Context] @Meddler: Tryndamere ult tweak?

DeathBurst··2 votes·493 views

Currently on PBE:

* Undying Rage (R) - while R is active, Tryndamere can now not be reduced below 30/50/70 HP up from 1 HP

But currently on live, there is a convoluted clause, according to the wikia:

  • If Tryndamere is below 3% maximum health when Undying Rage ends, he heals to that amount.

I think this clause was not explicitly in the tooltip(?), so if something has changed here, it may be hard to scrap for surr@20.

And I suppose this clause has been removed, because the hard numbers in the new one roughly correspond to 3% maxHP. So why is this changed? Just for clarity's sake, because not going below the threshold is better than being healed in the end? Is there something important I missed about it?

What's the reasoning here?

The only real difference is that instead of healing you for a small amount, you simply never drop below that small margin of health in the first place.

Most Tryndameres go full glass cannon, so with base health he'll have around 1000, 1500, and 2050 health at levels 6, 11, and 16 respectively. 3% of each of those values roughly equates to 30/50/70 health.

Overall this is a buff to his glass cannon play style and also a MAJOR buff against ignite, since now instead of slashing the % health heal and potentially killing him in that split second of extreme vulnerability right when the ult ends, he'll just have that much health left over anyway (meaning grievous wounds has less effect than live). It means that any build with health involved will get less health left over in those situations, but almost nobody plays Tryndamere as a bruiser anyway.

I think they just want to make it clearer, and also force everyone to levelup ult asap. Some player still leave ult at rank 1 until level 17.
