Sett is surprisingly great, but:

Setts kit right now, over all, is surprisingly balanced out. His W is quite powerful, I definitely agree on that since the shield is just way too large.

However, I think this can be fixed by doing one simple thing: Moving a lot of that power from the W to his ultimate.

Right now his ultimate is sort of lack-luster. It feels like a worse version of Vi's ultimate due to it's incredibly short range. Since he has no way to really close the gap between people reliably (Other than his Q, but that's just really easy to kite out honestly), it makes the ult sort of useless for its intended purpose which is to be used as an initiation by grabbing a beefy opponent and slamming them into the enemy team. But even most tankys honestly out range Sett or outright just ignore him. Cho'Gath can silence him when he tries to walk up, Sion can kite him away with slow/knockup, Ornn can literally just say "No." Mundo can just walk away.

So, I feel like what should be done right now is reducing the shield he gains from his W to around 30%-35% and increasing the range of his ultimate by, I personally would say at least 50%. His ultimate is his only real gap closer since his E is just way too small and his Q is simply too slow. Making his R a more reliable gap closer would solve the issue of its clunky usage and lowering the shield of his W would make him a lot less excruciating to play against in lane.

I will admit though, it's kinda funny having someone fight you only to get absolute decked in the face by a fully charged W. That's satisfying as ****.

Unlike Vi, Sett is a juggernaut. His job isn't to engage and set up the fight, it's to be this behemoth that punishes the enemy hard if they engage on him.

His own engage should be weak. That's the intended weakness of a juggernaut.

Pre-released champions on PBE are really intended to establish function, not balance. Riot has a robust development process that takes place pre-PBE, so there are rarely major issues with performance, but it's still a valuable step since the community, as a larger entity, is more likely to discover minor issues through sheer force of numbers.

Riot also benefits from a champion being strong on release because the community wants to play new / strong champions, and that means $$$$.

The second benefit from releasing strong champions actually plays a part in establishing balance. Again, people want to play new / strong champions. The more a champion gets played, the more statistics Riot has to determine what is 'unbalanced' for that champion.

So your feedback is good, but .. it's early.

I find Sett super generic. His kit is kinda bland to be honest.

I haven't try him so I can't form an educated opinion on sett unfortunately. But from the video of foggedftw that I watched I do have to agree the ult dmg seemed a bit underwhelming.

He's way too easy to kite and he scales like crap.

Fogged was 12/4 and stomped the Garen in laning phase and yet that Garen that was so far behind got 3 items and was suddenly able to kill him if he didn't ult the Garen into his turret.

IMO to me he's just gonna be a worse Darius. Has to punch twice (2 autos), Q reset 2 autos and W, that's an eternity for a combo in a meta where you blow up in less than 3 seconds.

Maybe when the meta slows down and he can live long enough to do damage to a frontline without being vaporized by the ADC and mages, then he might be useful as a frontline buster. But even then he'll be a worse Darius.

Don't see why I would ever take this champ over Darius, Renekton, or Kled. His W has such a massive wind up that the true damage section will rarely hit the target.

idk if anything was different in PBE b.c it says you posted this a month ago but right now his ULT is insane! It does tons of dmg! The only thing I see that's "lackluster" is his gap closer. If he goes in on someone it's kinda easy for the enemy to just walk away and sett cant catch up. Maybe that's his style; hes a champ that shines when the enemy comes to him and not really an engaging bruiser.

hm I havent played him at all (he looks like an eboy D: i wish they would've gave him a cooler design) but his abilities look interesting.. I actually hope they buff the ult, to instead, make it so when he grabs the enemy and drives them to the ground, they extend the height u go up, and make it so u can dive the person onto other people for knockup and damage.. but it shouldn't be as quick? idk how to make it sound, you should be able to use R and dive a bit of distance... and maybe.. Make it so W knocks back if its 3/4th or fullypowered?

Let's not bump old threads as doing so is necromancy which violates the Board Universal Rules. I'm going to lock this thread down now. If we want to chat about Sett's kit, let's make a new thread instead of bumping an old one.

If anyone has questions about this lock, feel free to reach out to the Moderation Team via:

Maybe give him a shield on his R, he can still be damage while ulting. The W decaying shield could be nerfed for the R shield.
