The WuKong Mini-Rework, where did it go?

I've been thinking about this for a while, a few weeks/months ago there was the Wu-Kong mini-rework on the PBE that from what I could tell was pretty well received. It made him less assassin-esk and more warrior-like, like Wu-Kong should be over all. It seemed to of faded away without much explanation, at least not one that I could fine. Could we expect it to re-surface any time soon? I've been enjoying Wu's current kit, but will admit that it feels lacking over all compared to a lot of his lane/jungle opponents.

All the monkey mains protested so they pulled it back.

Can't remember what aspect of it was hated, but that's the gist of it.

It was put on hold as the effects artist was busy with other priorities. It will probably be awhile still till they get back to it.

Riot commented that they are holding Wukong rework for preseason, since then some speculations of the preseason theme have been leaked
