So I Made A New Bronze Account Unranked Because People Claim Low Elo Is Impossible

ItsOrval··8 votes·2,106 views

And I ended up getting to Diamond IV in 3 days. Low elo is so easy, I do not understand why you guys keep complaining thats it's "impossible" to get out of. If it is impossible, why is it that you can literally pay someone, on a site, to boost your account? Please stop with these threads saying low elo is hard because of feeders/trolls, because it's really not.

Incoming dislikes from low elo board members lul

Edit: Lots of low elo players disliking because they dont want to accept the fact and get good, they prefer to get carried every game to win.

"You can play anything and carry yourself out of low elo"

This statement is not really accurate. It's true if you yourself are skilled enough to not be in low elo. But it's incorrect if you are not skilled enough to get out of low elo.

It's just a skill and game knowledge thing.

"You can play anything and carry yourself out of low elo"

I've never said that statement though. You cant play anything and make it out of low elo. Ive tried playing just Janna top once and only made it to gold 3 with it till i gave up.

Ralanr2 votes

I'm not saying you did. I'm just arguing the general point that if you're skilled enough to get out of low elo, you'll get out of low elo.

All you provided was showcasing a skill gap.

ItsOrval3 votes

I'm just trying to tell people that you can win in bronze. They make it sound like they have the worst luck, and that it is always their team's fault.

I mained Jayce since I started this game, only played Jayce top lane and nobody else. Got help from a Challenger (Not elo boosting, he didnt play one game of norms or ranked with me), who taught me everything I was doing wrong and what I need to fix. After learning from him I shot all the ways up to plat within 1 week. Then diamond in the next week. I then bought an unranked account and was placed in bronze 5 (did this on purpose to see how bad bronze was), then got out within 3days. Of course I dodged a few games where I got autofilled to support and nobody would switch me, but other than that I carried anyone that fed/trolled, unless they fed someone like Shyvana.

You should not have mentioned the purchase of an account... Riperino. Was nice knowing you mate.

But I regularly find a silver player and do the same thing for them each new season. They never fail to hit diamond within a few months. I do play some games with them on occasion, but mostly the improvement stems from being able to pick my brain about strategic elements they have difficulty with and learning how to properly CONTROL the pace of a game.

I'd say edit out the bit about purchasing an account, but the post was already made and the mods likely already seen it and Riot staff takes purchase and sale of accounts pretty serious. Fingers crossed for ya bud.

This account is already Perma-banned, could care less if they decided to perma-ban my boards profile as well. I dont know why they get salty about buying level 30 unranked accounts, I dont want to wait 3 months to get an account to level 30, then buy all my runes, then 16 champions, then be able to finally queue for rank. Too long.

Nah, they won't mess with the boards account. Just check up on the buddy you mentioned and your ISP to see whats been going on then the ISP of the account you wrangled before you shot up the ladder with it. What likely happens is that the purchased account gets banned in game and that'd be it. This is why you don't buy accounts, it only takes a couple weeks or a month to level up a new smurf for the same exact benefits, no wasted money.

In what game has this ever happened.

Are you really trying to tell me people, unlikely or not, go from a barely above average player to a semi pro player in a year? uwotm8. You ever play other games on a tournament level?

Sometimes I think the community is drunk, you guys do realize that in most other genres/platforms/games what you consider a Diamond player here is BASICALLY semi-pro in just about any game.

Literally, if you're Diamond in this game, you were a Gladiator for like every season of Arena since its inception. Every. Single. Season.

Go check on ArenaJunkies how many glads there are from every season. In fact, the only rank AHEAD of gladiator, WERE the pro gamers, who were rank 1, which was like a .02 or .01% change, kind of like Challenger, which is literally nothing. Nothing. NOTHING.

Perhaps the skill disparity is huge, but the number of people is not. Reckful was lightyears ahead of me in game play, that doesn't mean that I didn't play against him at least once a week lol.

Considering I went from a silver player in season 2 to a mid diamond player in season 3? Yes. Considering that I've spent 4 straight season as a diamond 1 player or better and regularly get stomped by bronzies in norms? Yes.

I've played poker, MTG, YuGiOh, Warhammer, baseball (for an EXTREMELY brief 2 month window) and Karaoke as a means of income in my lifetime. Each of these things I was a pretty average player at before I decided to invest time in being a quality semi-professional player.

Woah mate, careful here, the BIGGEST discrepancy in skill gaps between tiers exists between Master and Challenger, and a close second is Diamond to Master. That .05% difference in terms of percentage population is about 10x the level of skill expressed by players in the lower tier. Each tier is an order of magnitude more skilled than the previous tier.

I get that, as I said, I used to play Reckful when I was 2680 and he was 3000+ rated, yet we were like less than 40 people apart. I understand completely.

But that skill gap - that difference - to most people was microscopic. In fact, an Arena Master usually could look at us and not tell the difference. What I'm saying is that the generic Silver->Diamond, I would think, I would HOPE, is much different.

I'm got an inkling that a lot of rank in this game boils down to cheesing and luck but I've yet to be able to prove any of that. I can promise you that you'd never go from 1600 to 2700 in a WoW season, so this concept is kind of startling to me.

If being good at the game is so difficult how do so many of you then jump so fast?

i.e. StarCraft, most of us played for 10 years to even get anywhere close to the level of Pros, you could play for a solid 2 years and not be anywhere close to me (lol when I placed for SC2 DIamond when it came out and hadn't even looked at the units in the guide)

so, idk, this makes me wonder. Ive beaten Diamonds in normal too, in fact in my match history here, so I wonder what the hell it is that comprises a diamond player

Honestly? Mostly how much free time they have to grind games. Just about any average player could hit diamond if they had 1000 or so matches to play each season and applied Proper Climbing Technique principles 100% of the time, everytime.

The other option is actual skill, but this is usually best determined by HOW MANY games it takes a player to reach diamond level.

For your average diamond level talent it takes about 100-200 games each season to hit it, and I've got it down to pretty much a science when I make new smurf accounts and can regularly hit diamond in less than 180 games now.

In case you were wondering this is NOT a good rate, lmao. Guys like Dyrus (who is a scrub, but he's still kicked my ass the 3 times I've had the opportunity to play against him) can make that climb in 50 or 100 games because their play is so consistent.

The REAL issue is that many players ascribe diamond level talent with this otherworldly ability and skill, which is not at all the case. A diamond is a silver player who actually understands how to work with his team in a constructive fashion. That's pretty much the only difference, attitude and ability to organize/communicate with the team. Most of the players up here aren't that amazing at all. They just play consistently, communicate effectively, and try to limit mistakes as much as possible. But we get beat all the time by lesser players in ranked and normal matches.

I see. Well, I'm not sure if that's encouraging or discouraging. I need to improve my cs vastly, but - and this stems from other games, my mechanical knowledge is on point. I mean, for a silver, I do some seriously gosu plays.

i.e., q'ing zed's shadow as he tps (prediction) for the wombo combo type of stuff. But, at the same token, I feel limited as to my ability to climb based on skill that would otherwise better serve me...

maybe that's why ive had issues in mobas, the skill ive acquired doesn't transition so neatly.

If you're really good at MMO PvP, for example, most of the same skills apply to FPS

It's gonna be less about your tactical ability and more about your strategic ability. I'm barely a silver talent when it comes to mechanics, I'm simply terrible, but my map awareness and strategic sense is off the charts professional level good. This means when I'm in a situation to organize my teams and get everyone focused on a particular play it tends to work out as my ability to organize a strategy is very good. However, the more focused I have to be on my mechanical play the less likely I will be to win the match as I have to spend more brainpower and focus on proper positioning and ability use. In general the same will hold true for most every player, acquiring strategic skills is the key to reaching high level play, not the tactical skills.

Warding skills, map and zone control skills, wave management skills and other more strategic elements tend to be the most difficult things to understand at a high level and also the types of elements that best serve players on the climb to any given point on the ladder.

So wave management and all of those things are what im actually terrible at. In fact, I'm usually down 20-30 cs compared to the top person in game and rick roll them ten minutes later from mechanics.

Warding I get, map and zone control not so much. The whole freeze, push thing kind of eludes me as to why its necessary.

I've always played in the top 1% of NA for FPS, RTS, and MMO since, uh.... SC:BW. MOBA's are an entirely different animal though from a design structure. I mean, you never play competitively with strangers in any other genre.

You want to be making your pushes simultaneously on all areas of the map at all points in the game if possible. This allows the option of trading objectives if the enemy team groups to stop a push in one lane, or even maybe take one for free if the fight can be stalled out for long enough. This is probably the least intuitive part of the game to learn and understanding how to manipulate a wave in lane to freeze or push can make or break lane, while knowing how to start a slow push that build up can lead a huge gaggle of minions taking a tower while the other 10 players are all on the opposite side of the map having a team fight. There are some good youtube videos out there that deal with the basics of these elements, but real experience is the best bet to learn them and get them down and a big reason why having a coach can make such a huge difference in your play in a very short period of time.

Sure, feel free to add rRunForest. That account should be around the right range so I could even play with you if you'd like. Fair warning: I will intentionally handicap myself if you intend to play ranked games as a duo with me. It would be unfair for me to boost you, and it would be unfair for your competition to play against a diamond+ player playing his best champs. No one would have fun and that would be sad. I'm more than happy to play things I have never played before with you though (I have yet to try out Camille, for example). Just having my knowledge to draw on in game is a pretty big advantage in and of itself but I can't unknow what I know.

That's because Elo Hell literally does not exist and is just a sad scapegoat for people who genuinely believe they're better than they are (Read: delusional) and can't come to terms with it. I've seen countless threads saying that every single bracket below Masters is ELO Hell.

That's because Elo Hell literally does not exist

Of course it does.

People just have no idea what it actually is and think it's something it's not.

All Elo Hell is is bad luck in a short span of games. 5 games in a row with an AFK? Yeah, that's Elo Hell. It's bad luck that is beyond the ability of you as a player to control. Its not a point on the ladder, or a tier or even a mentality or anything like that. "Elo Hell" is the official term we use in place of "bad luck" as players to describe games we lose mostly because we have zero or next to zero ability to control the outcome of the game due to factors outside of our control.

Now a LOT of players will ascribe various things to being beyond their control that are NOT actually beyond their ability to control ("This troll Yas support just screwed us out of a win! Totally beyond my ability to control!" Nope, not the case, you have the option to dodge a trolled comp or a troll player. Failing to do so is failure of your skill as a player to analyze the strategic situation in lobby and decide if the game is likely to be won or lost.), but it doesn't change the fact that TRUE bad luck does occur and "ELO Hell" does exist.

You failed to understand the complaints, and thus proved nothing.

The question is if it's possible for someone who's at ~Silver 3 skill level to escape Bronze 5 and get to Silver 3. Put another way: how much better than Bronze 5 do you have to be to escape Bronze 5. Presumably if you're Diamond 2 skill level you can escape Diamond 3 or Diamond 4, but the same tendency doesn't seem to apply in the lower ranks.

It's said to be impossible because we are not 3 Elos ahead. If say you shoudl be gold 5 but are currently in silver 2 you are not so far ahead that you can just carry a bad player. Your specific skill set is so far ahead you can plow through it no problems but some one 2-3 levels behind may get stuck in elo hell as they are good enough to be 2-3 levels up but not good enough to carry basically a 4v5 like some one 2-3 elos higher could.

How is that hard to understand?
