People tryhard now because of the key/chest thing?

Hello. I played this game 3 years from season1 to season4. I started once more in season6 , I was dia4 before I gave a break. This is my smurf acc, anyway. Back then, normal games, aram games or even 3v3 games were meant to play for fun. When I got bored of playing ranked too much, I was playing few normal games, didnt care if i win or not, I tried interesting builds, you know just for fun. And most of the people were doing the same thing I did. They were saying " np bro its just normal game anyway". Now in season6, what i see is there is no big difference between rankeds and normals except getting LP. Well I say it, because after 2 years break, there is huge difference between players. They all focus on winning so hard, in aram , in normals.... We all try to win in rankeds so tryharding on rankeds is fine.

Ofcourse people will want to win, and they get fun when they win a game , I agree with it. And I kinda respect because we are all different. But be sure guys, back then that people werent that much. It was a laugh reason to see a tryharder in normal games, people would make fun of it. Now its... Mehh...

I mean different people have a differences of how they want to play. Just because they only play normals doesn't mean it's then thinking it doesn't matter win or lose. I mainly play normals and I try my hardest because despite playing for years I still don't think I'm ready for Rank.

At the end of the day this is a game. You are suppose to have fun. Sadly unlike most games you are required to play with other people. Who may have a difference of opinion on the matters of what games modes mean what! With that said play to enjoy the game.

If you've played for years you are ready for ranked. Trust me. The sheer amount of bad players there is ridiculous.

I've tried ranked when I first begun and tanked MMR until the point I could win 6/10 of my placements and be put in bronze 4 (Hell, I think that in S4 I won 7/10 and got B3).

If you aware of your mistakes you are far ahead than most people you will find in your 10 games trial.

I understand that but still I don't feel ready. Especially when you put into account the only role I feel comfortable with is Support. I doubt I could carry myself to a high rank (or at the very least gold for the skin)

I have tried rank in the past getting to Bronze 1 I feel I could rank up but I just don't want to be a disappointment!

If you got Bronze in a previous Season you got even more reasons to play. At least to get your MMR around high Silver so you can have some semblance of reliable team mates for when you really want to rank up.

Well to be fair at that time I got bronze was season 3. I did play maybe 3 games of rank so I haven't even completely my placements in this season. But eventually I'll start mainly playing rank. Just gotta take some time!

Well said.

I try harder in ARAM than in ranked SR because ARAM's simply more interesting to me. I actually want to know how my skills compare there. On the other hand, I don't really care about my SR ranked games. However, I know other people do care about their SR ranked games, so I try to respect that viewpoint. In turn, I hope that other players show me the same courtesy.

I don't think Chests have anything to do with it. Partially because Chests and key fragments can be found with the help from friends. Q up in a party, and only one of you actually needs to get an S rank. (Figured this out when I played sona. Got a chest because my friend got an S on xin zhao) More likely the problem is the level 6-7 Mastery that's creating problems. Since You actually need the rank to level, And I believe it has to be on SR.

As for the other modes, I feel like it might be an aging thing. Anyone who plays ARAM for 3 years, probably has a good understanding of what works and what doesn't.
