Yeah I get it his win rate's not great. Still doesn't change the fact that at level 3 he can damn near 100-0 most mid laners, and once he gets 
he won't have mana problems and his damage just becomes more ridiculous from there. Also most lane matchups mid and top lane seem to favor him.

actually, he can. Ever heard of Jayce's q? There's also Jayce's e which disengages. Not to mention his e.
But like I said in my other comment, he's everything spread out whereas varus has his q which is major tf damage, and his ult which snare, then he just AA's everyone.

Do you even know what his abilities are???? Varus ult is good as long as you have someone who CAN ENGAGE on your team nearby.
therealdragon1 votesthen its probably because most other champs are better for the team comp or has a better strength. Take riven....actually no don't, take......idk......shen. He's a super tanky ninja. So all he has to do is buy thornmail and armor and then wait for his teammates to come up and finish jayce and he'll be dead. Maybe even malphite. Malph usually only gets taken if there's also a yas mid, but combine those two and screw a jayce when we can just 1v4 or 5 the enemy team.
He is powerful, but he's more like sona where he does a bit of everything and no one big thing he does like malph (tank and ult), or shen(tank and ult xD). For those reasons, I think Jayce just doesn't fit as well as others do in their teamcomps or such.

however his 1v1 got nerfed hard, and his scaling is less than a normal late game champion since it was nerfed (his ranged W)

stealthfox941 votesNot true at all his E/Q is easier to land than nid's and is AOE. Also last I checked Varus didn't have a melee form. Why are people even comparing Jayce to Varus.

They are comparing Jayce to Varus because if you pick jayce mid lane, youre doing it for a poke comp for your team. And Varus is strictly better at poking than Jayce is.
stealthfox941 votesThat's not true though. Jayce's damage in melee form is nothing to joke about. Varus may be better at mocking but he's 100 times more vulnerable to getting dove than Jayce has no mobility and obviously doesn't have a melee form. Jayce is the better overall champ IMO.

His melee form is almost strictly for 1v1s, and for cleaning up already won fights.
He is outmatched in his poke by other champions, and his dueling is nowhere near as good as other champions. So he is in a middle ground that doesnt fit into either types of team comps.
