On-hit items on Ez Q?

So I was just bored and decided to test out what items work on Ezs Q as it does state "Applies on hit effects"

Thus I found out that ALL on hit items work EXCEPT 2.

Hydra and Hurricane. Now why don't these two work? and if you argue not one they why not the other?

Hydra explicitly states it applies "on-hit" even tho it does say "melee only" so why cant his Q apply the passive? GPs Q applies it, its the same concept.

Hurricane, this does not explicitly say it is a "on-hit" item, but other items that say "basic attacks" are applied on Q, but hurricane is not, why?

FUN FACT! I did not know this, but exploring these on-hit items allowed me to find out that the Hurricane procs count toward your shivs passive build up, allowing for shiv to to go off every 4 AAs, (1 AA = 30 stacks if there are targets nearby for them to hit) (and if you are just standing still, if u are moving it will go off even more often)

Probably how they are programmed with GP's being an empowered melee attack with distance with Ezreal's being a spell that can apply ranged attacks. Also because once again, Ezreal's is a spell not a basic attack.

But hurricane is an "on-hit" effect.

UNIQUE PASSIVE: Your basic attacks fire minor bolts at 2 nearby targets, each dealing 10 (+ 50% AD) physical damage and applying on-hit effects.

Given that it applies on-hit effects, being an on-hit effect would be very, very bad. Otherwise your 2 extra bolts would proc on-hit effects, each spawning another two bolts, which would proc more on-hit effects, spawning more bolts, until eventually it's just a cone of destruction that kills everything with a single autoattack.

Hence why it only procs from auto attacks.

Yes, I was agreeing with you, but trying (and failing) to do so in an amusing manner.

Ahhhh, k.

No, hurricane applies on hit effects. It says it works with your auto attacks only.

GP Q procs hydra because his skill description says it applies on hit effects as if it was melee. Please read before you jump to conclusions. It is quite annoying.

I did read, and i it says "on-hit" so right back at you why doesn't hurrican or hydra proc off his Q? One or the other should, either way.

And yes i know GPs says "as if it was melee", but hydra says "on-hit" and so does Ez Q. so why does an "on-hit" spell not apply an "on-hit" effect?

Hydra is melee only. Therefore, only melee champions can proc it. GP is melee. His Q counts as a melee attack because in it's description, it says that it acts as if it was a melee attack. Hurrican, on the other hand, is for basic attacks only.

Hydra cannot work because the effect only works if the CHAMPION is melee. Ezreal is ranged, thus he cannot proc the effect. Hurricane is not an on-hit effect, it is rather an on-attack effect. The difference is slight, but Mystic Shot does not count as launching a basic attack.

Ty! that makes sence.

Also, Runaans is a basic attack proc. This means that it applies to actual basic attacks. Ezreal Q is on hit, applying when a basic attack/Mystic Shot hits.

Hurricane is not an on-hit effect. It's effect applies to regular attacks and last i saw Ez's Q =/= auto attack and Hydra just applies to MELEE champions which Ez is not please learn to use common sense
