His Q is just damage on autos, but tryn's is better his W is a trade winner, but tryn's is better as it slows and also has wider range his E is just a dash, but tryn's does damage his R teleports to anywhere on the map where an ally is, but tryn is just immortal and taking a tower and getting a kill

tf ult - announcing everyone HEY I HAVE USED MY ULT, followed by a tp to a spot that is around 1/4 a map away while showing where he gonna pop shen ult - massive shield + tp to a player

Sorry I just realized you're a mage main and you can see oceans of difference between nearly identical kits (like 3/4ths of the mage roster)

Shen is trash, he's not in pro play, but he's kept weak bc 'muh pro play'

damage shen has better lwinrate than tank shen.

Who cares whether he is trash or not, those kits are so far apart from being identical it's actually ridiculous. nothing in their kits is the same. Nothing. they both AA for damage, that's about it.

What does all this have to do with me being a main lux ? how can you say 3/4 of the mages have identical kits? Wtf is wrong with you?

Dude the amount of variety you see in those champions who run up and afk auto attack while their dash in on cooldown is exactly what I mean when I say you can't see how "Line stun, secondary source, R nuke" on like almost every mage. I'm not even a hashinshin fanboy but even I can see how old the mage formula is and how it needs work. How the fuck is brand actually different than Lux at the end of the day? More splash damage? that's the only real difference. Like tell me how you can have a concept as cool as mages, and then you realize that Anivia functions almost the same as brand when "Frost god" and "Eternal Fire Demon" are their concepts. You could literally swap their partical effect styles and flip the- OH WAIT THERES A FIRE ANIVIA AND A FROST BRAND AND IT LOOKS FINE. Mages are bland, outdated, and need to have kits that actually have something to do with their flavor.

Basically Just taliyah, Azir, and maybe two or three more break the formula

Brand has more several combos he can do depending on the situation while lux just QER to kill everyone(assuming the q landed)

Nah, they are all pretty much unique that it would take way to long to explain how wrong you are. Play them and I mean really play them a lot to get to know them and you will see that they all have something different to bring to a game.

Shens E is a TAUNT and does damage, which he can then follow up with Q W, to block all autos from the taunted target while you use your empowered autos from Q on the said enemy. Him and trynd are NOTHING alike; Shens ultimate and Twisted Fates ultimate are completely different. TFs ult gives true vision of everyone on the enemy team, then he can recast to teleport an increasing distance with each ult level. Shens ult is GLOBAL and a SHIELD, his shield is increasing based on the missing health on the targeted ally, your comparison make absolutely no sense XD [sg-zephyr]

I mean I don’t agree with shen getting special interactions, but I wouldn’t mind shen being a little stronger.

Despite what posters have said, I guess I can see what OP is getting at with shen being a “shittier trynd.” Q gives damage to autos, w gives defensive utility, e is a damage dealing dash (trading off cd reduction on crits with taunt), and ult is a utility spell that helps them splitpush. Both are splitpushers, both have early cheese, both are melee autoattackers.

But I can see why people don’t agree as well. Shen is a more team + utility oriented champ, and trynd is a selfish higher damage champ. As it stands trynd does the splitpushing job better than shen, so while I wouldn’t agree that they are the same type of champ, I would agree that having a trynd is often better than having a shen while filling the same role of splitpusher, but better.

Not at all, tryn is pretty damned reliable and TF is a staple as well, shen isn't even the red headed stepchild, he's the red headed stepchild's boyfriend who lives in the basement and doesn't leave because his parents beat him
