I mean... everything by itself looks fine about this champion, but ingame, the whole champion feels kinda... I dont know, weak. I cant even say what it is, cause whenever I look through his skills, everything looks fine. Still ingame, I feel like I am not making any difference at all...
redniwediS3 votesTo me it's his mobility, or more importantly his lack of mobility. With a single offensive ranged ability he just doesn't match up to champions like Leona and Braum. Riot is taking a very good look at him, so have hope!

KidSpectre1 votesGet him offensive items and he can out-duel a LOT of champions. But he needs items, and you can't afford to build him as a support if you want to bring out his real strength.
DISCLAIMER: I should clarify; he can out-duel if people stick around to fight him. If you kite him, he'll die like any other melee champion since he needs the CD resets from his passive.

Taric has decent overall AP ratios, and he does all magic damage with his abilities. More heals, more damage. Once or twice I did an AD hybrid Taric, but it was more cheesy than viable (he shreds massive amounts of armor, 25 at max rank W, so you can sort of cheese people who aren't ready for it.) Most important thing with Taric is to hit max CDR and not run out of mana. If you can do that, you're golden.
4D Shadow1 votesMaybe you need to play him more? Taric takes practice and can be a very viable tank. Just learn how he works. Armor/Health. Protect your carries, initiate when you need to, don't get caught out. Often times i have found myself tanking through a majority of games with taric. He is really strong if you build your masteries and item synergy correctly.

Runes: Flat Armor Marks, Scaling Armor Seals, MR Glyphs, Health Regen/Flat Armor/MS Quints
General Skill Order: EQWQWW, R>W>E>QTaric doesn't provide as much utility as other supports late game, but if you weave autoattack between abilities you can serve as a powerful bruiser. You can fight a lot of champions equally while also providing AD, AP, Armor, and MR auras, slows, heals, and stuns.
In team fights, I find he best serves as a bodyguard for your carries. If anyone tries to dive your carries, you stun them and start killing them while absorbing damage.

Put a second level in Q at level 4, then leave it for last

Use the utility masteries (preferable 0/15/15). It gives you extra gold generation and mana regen, which is very useful in lane.

For runes, I wouldn't recommend AD. I'd recommend MS/HealthRegen/FlatArmor Quints, Scaling Armor Seals, Flat Armor Marks, MR Glyphs. You itemize a lot of health early and Taric scales well with armor. It also makes you really hard to shove out of lane.
