Please, DO NOT buff Xin Zhao!

Xemeron··125 votes·8,843 views

For everyone who hasnt been on PBE or Surrender@20:

Xin Zhao

Battle Cry (W) heal increased to 30/35/40/45/50 from 26/32/38/44/50
Audacious Charge (E) damage increased to 70/115/160/205/250 from 70/105/140/175/210

Since hes my main jungle champ, I was of course very happy about it AT FIRST! Them I remembered what game this is. And more important, whos in charge of buffs and nerfs. He is fine right now, maybe not top of the mountain tier, but he can carry the game and he is fun. He is underplayed, yes, but hes not weak. As much as I would love these changes, I know exactly whats going to happen if they go through: Xin gets players attention, players suddendly realise hes not weak and that with these buffs hes actually a very very good jungler, people play him, people QQ about him, and then he will be nerfed till hes down at the Bar with Urgot and Veigar.

Please DO NOT BUFF HIM!

You know your balance team has a problem when people is scared of their main getting buffed.

I'm terrified that Nautilus is becoming viable

femmé4 votes

naut becoming viable could be the first stepping stone to a tank (jungle) friendly game again.

Retillin5 votes

Sadly I disagree. I think what will happen is this. Tanks will start to rise up, Riot's upper management will not happy with the lack of "flashy" or "exciting" plays from the tanks. They will then tell the Lead Champion/Game Designers to change things up. And we will end up back at the same spot we are now.

doubleguac5 votes

Look, as an avid tank player, I'm just going to say this:

League of tanks has happened before. There have been times in the past where teams were sending super-tanks jungle, top, and sometimes even mid. it isn't fun. I love playing tanks. I absolutely do not want to play League of Tanks again. I don't dislike League of Tanks because it lacks "flashy lcs plays." I dislike League of Tanks because it's not fun.

IMHO, tanks are not in that terrible of a spot overall. There are individual champions who deserve buffs (definitely Zac, maybe Mundo and Naut). But there are plenty of tanks who are currently great picks in solo queue. Sion isn't the most reliable jungler, but he's an amazing top laner. Sejuani is a great jungler all around.

After this new jungler item goes through, I think a lot of tanks will be in a fine spot. I legitimately hope Riot doesn't go overboard buffing them.

Because league of tanks is terrible.

Kairya2 votes

I main Sejuani and keep seeing her a lot more than I used to... It makes me very afraid. There were times when I was asked not to jungle with her "since shes so weak".. but now people are happy about me picking her. It's a nightmare come alive.

LeeSin : you are pretty strong right now but not strong enough to justify nerfs

XinZhao : Go on...

LeeSin : So i told riot to buff you so that they could gut you a couple of patches later. That way you will be weaker then you are now but we have a reason to nerf

XinZhao : is it really that serious....

LeeSin Yes it is... #LCSBigplays

And this ladies and gentlemen is why LoL has failed as a game.

SilverSmurpher12 votes

failed as a game? If being the most played video game on earth is failed then sure, they have failed.

Diablo 3 was the most sold PC game of All Time if I am not wrong.

So there's that.

Consider the nature of LoL, I am pretty sure some people are just kinda get too used to the game so they can't just stand up and leave for another title, kinda like WoW syndromes but probably not as extreme.

Can he stop LC$ big plays though?

uh oh I think R can stop Lee Sin mid dash.

You do realize that's in itself an LCS big play right?

Like Thresh's E interrupting Jarvan's E+Q or Leona's E.

I mean if you're gonna bitch and moan, at least do it right

Xin can counter THresh as the "I make the lane ungankable" support^^

But his full combo into a full 5 man let that singles out a lone ADC is a pretty good #LC$BIGPLAY on its own, and makes up for messing with Lee.

I hope he becomes good for a patch and then receives massive, unjustified nerfs, cuz I hate playing against Xin.

Yep, you heard me. I'm that bitter over Riot's most recent changes. If the champions I love get thrown in the trash without any effort being made to fix them in a timely fashion, I'm gonna go ahead and wish the same on the champions I hate.

Ok, no seriously can we just stop gutting champions for no reason???

Malix Farwin12 votes

Quite possibly the only game ive ever player where someone said they didnt want their champ buff and i would feel the exact same way if my champ was at the exact same place. This is how you know the balancing team needs to get their act together.

A portion of his damage buff has been reverted. Though, i dont think the change is big enough to cause problems. thats just my opinion though.

and then he will be nerfed till hes down at the Bar with Urgot and Veigar.

I dub this The Veigar Effect.

OhOkYeah5 votes

I wasn't sure why they were buffing him. He's got better early clears than Jarvan and many other junglers. His ganks are good but not OP like Jarvan/Lee. He's well balanced. He'll have slightly cleaner clears but nothing major. It's a welcome change but yea... more people will realize that he's actually more fun and better at early jungling than Jarvan and start calling for mass nerfs even though he's only got the 1 gap closer.

Piantissimo5 votes

they are buffing him because a skin is coming out, it is nothing to worry about having a teensie bit more sustain and his main spell having 40 more damage are crumbs of a buff put in to show riot haven't forgot about him.

The problem isnt that these buffs are too much, he IS already strong, and people will notice now...

XinZhao2WinNhao5 votes

xin is one of my mains, and i always thought he was strong-balanced. I never thought he needed a buff tbh

Droogzy4 votes

Don't think he will ever see serious competitive play.

So long as his R is still bugged out, won't happen most likely.

Spacesuit Spiff4 votes

"People will complain about him and he'll get nerfed"

...you... can't actually be serious... can you?

I could see Riot letting Xin into the Mile High Club of tier 1 junglers, like they did for Nid. I could also see him staying there. The only reason to worry about a new strong picked getting olafed is if they're someone Riot doesn't want dominating the meta Warwick

Ninpire2 votes

Ww was just stupid and I'm sure no one really enjoyed him dominating the meta because he literally just smited you and pressed r and you died.

ActuallyArrow4 votes

Maybe they can Compensate for the buff... Veigar

junglerboy163 votes

don't worry, they reduced the E damage down to only 230 at max from the original buff at 250. He isn't really at risk of becoming FotM again, because everyone only seems to think his success is tied to how strong Devourer is when Warrior works better in most cases. Speaking of which, I have a feeling these buffs are in part because both jungle items that he uses (Devourer and Warrior) have gotten nerfed to limit champs who abused them, while Xin is only just now getting slight buffs to keep him competitive.

African Mundo 3 votes

If the buffs goes through he'll have 2 weeks before they gut him

Chessburger3 votes

Oh wow that is a huge buff. I already found him feeling better than he did before even if slightly behind.

BeatzBoyFTW3 votes

Ikr. When I saw the random Xin buffs in PBE and I was like:

"I dun remember Xin being a tank....."

TheXioniX3 votes

Sounds like Riot

Miku Lv993 votes

They've reduced it to 70/110/150/190/230 from 70/115/160/205/250 now. I don't think that'll make him op. It'll just make him another one of the good junglers so we'll get to see more variety so this is a plenty good change.

Icy Auron3 votes

Underplayed? Weak? You're out of your mind. Xin is one of the safest, most powerful junglers in the game, due to his ability to fit into literally any team comp, and a kit that includes almost everything.

OblongOtter2 votes

The two times he said the work "weak" he said "hes not weak." I'm sure he appreciates you furthering his point that Xin is already strong, though.

Boswick2 votes

I don't understand why theyre buffing his w... you can already do a full clear with practically full HP but ok Riot.

Hupsis1 votes

His passive is too powerful. 15% armor reduction so everyone on his team can deal extra damage to his target? Please... I would be ok with those changes if his passive only affected his own damage.

Also in the most recrent PBE change the bonus damage on E was changed to 70/110/150/190/230 (which is still a buff).
