Season 8 and "Runes Reforged" has been a total failure. The DAMAGE has already been done, folks. People are quitting League because it's an absolute mess.
If riot does attempt to fix the issues by reducing the damage (a very simple fix), we'll have to wait until around Mid-Season 9 until League's state becomes decent.
I highly doubt they'll do anything to fix the issues, though. Riot will destroy League even more with Mid-Season 9 changes that include RNG elements, overpowered champions with overloaded kits and new overloaded/overpowered runes that will include in-game quests.
We'll probably see a lot of cooldowns reduced so that the matches will still be fast paced 15 minute matches.
On top of that, if the Battle Royale mode, "Nexus Blitz" becomes a permanent game-type, The population will split even more making Auto-filled games more prevalent in Ranked/Normals SR games.
With the unwanted 5 Positional Ranks incoming for Season 9, players will be dealing with a lot of auto-filled games. So, Riot will be holding player's hands by giving each positions their own rankings.
