Snowballing is too easy, only requires 1-2 kills

reduce player gold

That would actually work. But it'd slow down games immensely.

I would prefer the game to slow down a lot. Make 45 minute games the norm. That way you can improve on all 3 phases of the game.

I would like to start the game where everyone is at max items and level 18 that way we can skip the boring part and get to the true skill test that matters, where everyone is on equal footing and there are no stupid advantages and disadvantages to get in the way.

RlP K0BE8 votes

That would take away what league is. It's a strategic game where the team that plays smarter will win. What is fun about a Vayne starting at full build from the start?

Ralanr1 votes

You're right, let's start at level 6.

Kappa.

no one likes to fight an unfair fight just cause 1 team got some stupid kills and towers early on, the only way to make the game fair and truly test skill is to make it an even playing field, with no silly advantages and disadvantages present, only true skill.

What do you mean? The game starts on an even playing field as soon as everyone loads in...

What is unfair about a team getting an advantage if they got kills and towers? The only thing that might be unfair right now is the whole bot lane situation but thats about it.

he's being sarcastic ya tard :p

He's taking OP's words out of context and immaturely exaggerating them to make it seem like OP is eliminating snowballing all-together instead of just limiting how easy it is to snowball.

aka, he's presenting a very poor argument in a very poor way to express his opposing views of OP's thread

Ah ok then. Sarcasm is hard to pick up over the internet.

So make everyone play only Garen at 18 full build. Sooooo much fun.

You weren't here then when games went to 40-45 minutes on average... it was horrible. I'd rather keep games around 30-35 minutes on average like they are now

Avios11 votes

To be honest, I didn't mind the 45 minute games, It felt thrilling and far more strategic.

If you are shooting for a 30-35 minute game, you would have to pick a comp for that specific strategy, which helps make this Strategy game a thing.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

But by making 45 minute games the norm, you cast off a lot of the champion roster who want to end the game early due to their early game power, but late game dropoff.

is there a problem sir?

Maybe reduce gold from 1st 7 minutes or something. That should give the winning team a lead without nullifying efforts made in early game. (but keep 1st blood)

reduce player gold

Or we could give penalties to gold for dying, like DotA 2 does. Of course, I think this would also need to be accompanied by a way of buying while NOT at base so you can try to quickly buy before you get murdered. (AKA: Stash)

NodirjonSattarov1 votes

i don't think riot wants to completely copy dota2 but yeah a penalty may be necessary. specifically a larger penalty for those on win streaks.

SpecterVonBaren1 votes

Please no. I still have nightmares from being support in Dota on a losing team and being able to do nothing but buy wards because I'd lose all but my ambient gold every time I died.

Spice POWAH1 votes

I think keeping gold when dying is why some people like league more than dota. it just FeelsBad, y'know?

NineTailedMystic1 votes

wouldn't the punish the people playing against the snowball more. Die once in lane, lose so much G on top of the G they get for the kill putting you further behind.

BAAAAGHEEERARARA3 votes

Um. No, it doesn't. Snowballing is to you, I'm guessing, being so far ahead that you, as the opposing laner, cannot fight them. This, however, is not snowballing, it's just a step into it. To properly "snowball" the laner must be so far ahead that even(let's say..) three of your team can't fight him/her. I can't tell you how many games I've thrown away two kills to the enemy only to come back after farming whilst he was wasting his lead away doing nothing with his team. If anything snowballing is harder than it's ever been with these recent season changes that give a lot of room for error(Think higher base baron/dragon damage. Reduced early game damage to towers. New FRRRREREREREREEEEE red trinkets for everyone -scy orbs- Hell, even new escape paths being avalible to losing opponents.-Boucy thingys- And then, my favorite! Certain jungle monsters -LOOKING AT YOU KRUGS- being open for laners to farm, because it borderline wastes the junglers precious time.) and ways for the other team to throw. So just No. You're wrong, so very wrong.

Vanic9981 votes

I'm not sure if this would fix it but how does increasing every champipn's base resistances again sound? Would that work?

NodirjonSattarov1 votes

increasing resistances would then lead to resistances being too good, then an increase of damage would follow. it would create a back and forth thing between resistances and damage. but if you reduce gold, champions can't get items as easy, or it would take several kills to get items which reduces snowballing and increases game length. good thought though i see where ur comign from

Lovelle1 votes

If they don't do this for SR, I wouldn't mind if they did it for TT. Map is waaaay too snowbally and the altars don't help with that at all. Poppy/Darius got first blood? Prepare to hug your tower and turtle for the rest of the game.

Cosmic Warper1 votes

They already nerfed snowballing a million ways. The reason you feel like snowballing is too strong is due to masteries, not player gold.

DunkinNoobs1 votes

I'm curious how many kills you think someone should need before they snowball? 3? 5? More?

Lux Brand Annie Zyra Velkoz : but what about our gold income?

Danjeng1 votes

However, if gold from kills were reduced, early game champions such as the infamous Pantheon, will become useless. There are others too which rely on dominating the laning phase, but fall off later.

NodirjonSattarov1 votes

Currently the game is entirely set up for the early game. FB gives 400 to the killer, 200 for assists, FB tower gives 400 to last hit and 200 for assist. Games tend to last 26-32 minutes. So in a sense there is no late game.
