Riot. The Morde mains thank you for the name compromise. Now let's talk about the Champ playstyle

Shadow Isles and Death, Why Morde's title feels wrong and More (Making everyone happy, kinda)

I was giving up hope in Riot when suddenly my Fellow Morde mains got together an achieved something amazing.

Riot has decided to go for the 'Iron Revenant' name change as opposed to the 'Lord of Death.'

Malicious Metal, and Veraska- no matter how long it takes- I will be rewarding both of you for this. M.M it will take longer for you because you're on EUW and I'm on NA, but when I can you're gonna hear from me.

So what did we learn? Riot looks for two things when we don't like what they do.

  • Civil discussion.

  • Suggestions over complaints.

SO. To everyone reading this, Morde mains, and anyone else- We're going to keep this respectful- because we need Feedback from Riot.

This thread is dedicated to reviving the Morde that the mains fell in love with.

We're not amazing at this game, but we loved knowing we had the power to carry games. Was Morde perfect? Definitely not, but now, more than ever before, Morde requires his hand held, not only in lane, but also in the mid and late game.

People used to say that Morde was OP early game but fell off late game. But most Morde mains would disagree, as long as we had summoner 4 we could delete the enemy ADC, tank or APC, and make objective centered play around that 30 second pet.

Before the rework; this was one of the best ways to build Morde: http://www.lolking.net/guides/341703 (Author notes are hilarious, I promise you'll enjoy them if you've got the time)

But now Morde truly does fall off after mid game. In solo que it can be very difficult to keep a team focused on the WIN. We have to overcome one another's egos, attitudes, and basically use Sky Williams DST: _https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz7TWpRXyRY _

The rework attracted a great deal of attention for Morde, but sadly more than 60% of players still have no idea how Morde works. This hinders his ability to always do well bot lane because the kit he has requires a babysit- but often the support you're with (often last pick forced into this role) does not know how to support Morde, as this can be vastly different from supporting an ADC.

In fact- for those that haven't seen it yet- here's a video detailing how effective a good support can be even for a bad Morde:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGIpc876Akk

It's my belief that Morde is the victim of widespread panic and ignorance. I think if we as a community understood him better- there'd be a lot less baby rage about his kit in solo que games.

Lemme quote Captain Murica: https://gyazo.com/74fbe230b9c7e96441db8da3e2276875

The major difference between Morde mains and the newcomers is our style of play.

A Morde main wants to be able to carry a fight, and usually excels when placed in roles where he or she can control the game (Mid where he can roam, or top where he can apply effective map pressure)

The current Morde does little DMG in fights- especially if he is focused. Before the rework him landing E on 3 targets filled his shield all the way up and dealt a chunk of DMG.

Morde's E doesn't deal enough DMG to generate significant shield, which effects his solo lane harshly. The only thing that makes Morde solo slightly viable atm is Morde's Q.

Morde can crush lanes like Nasus andGaren, but he gets decimated by lanes like Teemo , Brand and Pantheon.

Mordekaiser used to beat all of these match ups. Morde's role before the rework was a niche pick meant to be ANTI meta champs. Don't have a top that can go toe to toe with Riven ? Go Morde.

Riot. Whatever it takes- we want that back. If it means reverting the rework- I'd say it's worth it. But I don't think we need to go that far. Give Morde his patch 5.4 W instead of patch 5.18. (Give him the ability to deal DMG with W with or without an ally, let it give him armor and MR pet for 6 seconds, not 4. Leave sustain play to veteran Mords.

When you rework a champ- I believe that Morde mains should be rewarded in their champ's new kit. It should be similar enough that the old mechanics we've practiced for years are still relevant. I do not need an EXP passive to win with Morde bot lane, or to control dragon. I promise you that. http://gyazo.com/e56d3237727974ca02a3364a6fdd4b59 (pic related) (5 months before rework)

I'm not even opposed to the removal or nerf of Dragon pet. Though it's worth mentioning that Morde's Dragon pet has targeting issues, and often does not listen to commands if the enemy cs is attacking it.

I'd also like to see Morde's ult range increased, and that the DoT (Damage over time be buffed at twice the DMG in exchange for a 5 second duration opposed to the 10 second) It doesn't have to be that harsh, but Morde's ult currently does very very little DMG with the way we're being required to build him. Securing ghosts is more or less reliant on your team's focus and has little to do with Morde other than him pressing R.

I'll be posting this on Reddit soon as well. If you support this thread- then support it on Reddit too. If you guys have suggestions for Mrde then let your voices be heard and keep this thread bumped. You never know when Riot may take your advice!

Please like, share and keep this thread bumped:

Honestly, their issues with solo Morde was that he was oppressive to an unhealthy degree in the majority of lane matchups at mid/top, hence he was considered toxic in that sense. I try to look at it from people who faced pre-rework Mordekaiser: you can try to poke him but you waste more mana than he does health with his shield almost always up - and sometimes you get poked back as well with his Siphon if you try to get close to farm - and he didn't have to overextend to push the lane: he was Mordekaiser, he could clear the entire minion wave before the enemy laner could even finish off their third creep.

For us mains, we knew his weaknesses inside and out, but most people simply don't understand and don't want to invest in learning how to counter him, it's the Riven dilemma: she has weaknesses, but people die and rage and go to forums to complain rather than try to learn to work around a champion. He earned a reputation as a noobstomper because people didn't learn his strengths and weaknesses and instead just tried to duel him and died. This is strongest in the solo-queue environment, where in lower elos the 'individualist' mindset of the LoL 'Hero' who tries to 1v1 everyone and make #LCSbigplays is punished horribly facing Mordekaiser, who can survive even 2v1s like a level 9+ Nasus.

i really did not think solo morde was oppresive pre rework especially with champs like morgana cassiopia, and zyra already out at the time. but ive only been playing league since season 3 so i dont know how opressive he actually was.

Just gonna throw out some more grand scope of things questions about morde, his identity, and riots vision of him. Right now it feels as of riot believe that morde is an interesting character whose gameplay is a poor execution of the character (think old sion) so instead of getting the massive sion level relaunch, mordes getting his gameplay adjusted to fit there vision of morde in steps, this is painful for veteran morde players be a use there seems to be a conflict of interest there in regards to mordes identity

What mordekaiser veterans value and see morde as (forgive me if I'm wrong or miss stuff:) -metal "mage" -burst -creating pressure with enemy champion pet -low cc carry -drain tank esque durability

What riot views mordes identity as (again just perceptions:) -juggernaut -more physical damage/fighter then pure mage -sustained tanky dps (against opposed to burst -objective control through dragon ghost - enemy soul -bruiser alternative to the traditional bot lane meta

There's not a lot of overlap between mordes player base and riots vision for the iron revenant but they share the common interest in wanting to be able to pressure map in a way only morde can- ghost sieges.

I think riots vision for morde has a lot of valid points based on visual reads, he's a giant suit of armor with a giant mace, so it makes sense that he would be a tanky heavy hitter, that I can understand but I think morde should retain his magic damage focus and be redesigned as an AP bruiser (Ala rumble) more then a glass cannon mage

I'm on mobile right now and I haven't slept yet so I'm just throwing out some more general ideas about how I think mordekaiser would be like in an ideal world where both parties are happy with the product.

In my eyes, the best in game manifestation of mordes character would be:

A tanky mage fighter hybrid who lacks Hard CC or mobility but makes up for it with target agnostic damage and map control by stealing dragon/champions souls, ideally would like him to be a solo laner with the option to go bot if you draft a comp for it. That's my 6 am thoughts for "dream morde"

Some questions I wanna ask you guys and gals who play morde more then me. What do you like to build on morde? Is the triforce build appealing? Do you think of morde as a early game or late game champion (the power of his ultimate varies greatly so it's always tough to say)

What are you guys vision of the dream morde? Hopefully we can get a mordekaiser that's the combination of the Morde players and riots vision of mordekaiser, the perfect fusion. The dream.

When I think of the ideal Mordekaiser I think Iron man.

Morde should work as a heavy damage dealer that stays alive through, well... Killing people left right and center. He should have a lot of damage and be the quintessential "Juggernaut" Low cc, durable as can be, lethal when up close, a carry that thrives in skirmishes.

Riot has a point, he should have to get more up close and personal to deal his damage and have consistent damage output yet they tried something wonky and decided to go all damage with little durability. His Iron man passive has always been his core and it compensated his low base stats. Let's compare darius and Morde; Base Ad at 18; Morde->146 Darius->141 Base health at 18; Morde->1750 Darius->2250

Both are Juggernauts with heavy damage output but Morde lacks the base tankiness Darius has, both having ways to mitigate damage (Decimate/Iron Man) Mordekaiser should be tankier, let's face it. He should really be this unstoppable Sauron-like Revenant, keeping himself alive by maiming his opponents and shredding them like guitar strings.

What I truly think made most of us go cray-cray was the fact that he was forced into a duo lane, gimping his solo, taking away some of his tankiness and putting most of his damage on his ramping up Q. We loved being these Metal dudes haunting solo lanes, farming everything, utterly destroying any foolish assassin and simply ruling with an iron fist. We liked being independent, yet reliant on ally CC.

Now if they were to beef up his base stats, give him some more durability in form of Iron man or base health, unlocking his basic ability for solo lane and tweaking his gimmicky Q in favor of spreading out the damage over his whole kit I bet most of us would be whistling a metal tune and resume being those rare pokemon you see once in a millenia, haunting the nightmares of dragons and devils and enjoying some solokaiser.

(Take everything with a grain of salt though)

I think one of my major gripes with morde atm is the conflict between his passive and E, I get why us innate tanking power is lower then darius- in an ideal world his passive gives him an extra 25% max HP, but due to it scaling off the damage it encourages morde to go heavy into damage, and with his damage profile focused on sustained DPS, makes building damage feel un rewarding

What if his E worked like rek'sais Q where it gave you shield based on number of targets hit (number increased for champions obviously) instead of/along with how much damage it does. it would open the door for tankier build paths and it could maintain its damage - to - shield conversion for AP builds, just with a better damage agnostic values

Malicious Metal1 votes

Fun fact; Release Morde's E gave More shield based on units struck

Was it a flat amount per unit struck? Or was it like, %health? Something tells me it was changed to a %damage mechanic to encourage glass cannon builds back then, I dunno I didn't start playing till mid season 2

If I had to define in one word how it felt to play Mordekaiser and the new Morde it would be "satisfying" and "frustrating" respectively.

Mordekaiser felt good, your abilities hit hard and looked powerful. You even got to use them whenever you wanted, you were in full control of your power.

New Morde feels bad, while your Q can hit like a truck it seldom gets there and none of your other abilities feel like they do damage. They certainly don't look like it, "Beware my ghastly gas cone attack" and "I'm a drop my mace on your head". Your dragon looks pretty sweet and it can feel pretty good to have a dragon following you around, except any AoE mage blows up a wave much faster and the dragon is harder to control than a car with its steering wheel stuck to the roof. That and we still can't have our cyclone of metal death around us without a buddy nearby. How do you expect me to wave clear? I have terrible attack speed, I have to build tanky or my passive is 100% (as opposed to 50% since it is impossible to fill) useless, my E is between 1 to 1.5 autos of damage and I can't use my highest total damage ability without a friend.

I have played Morde about once per patch since the rework to see if he is fun again and have been disappointed every time. I just want to be able to feel good playing him so I can call him Mordekaiser again.

You just described everything perfectly. I feel completely the same: only his Q is impactful, which makes up for not only boring experience, but also frustrating because of how his Q is unreliable. And dragon is horrible to control, he acts like there is 1 second delay between me giving dragon a command and dragon starting doing that.

I'm not a Mordekaiser main by any stretch, but he was always a fun champion for me before the rework. He was decently strong, and pretty resilient and I loved that feeling of invincibility I got when playing him before. Course that led me to doing stupid things like 1v4ing the enemy, but hey it was fun.

I just feel like the current Morde has no agency whatsoever.

Revert would be the best they could do. If they want to "break the meta", they release Champs pretty often; don't have to delete Mordekaiser for that.

KingWanahakalugi2 votes

I think they chose Morde for a reason though. Could they release a non-markman champion into the bot lane? Yes, but I think a new champion would disappear into oblivion immediately, because the current ADC mains don't typically divert from marksmen, and therefore wouldn't be well received by the community. Morde is a different story though. Mordekaiser's fan base is one of the most loyal (if not the most loyal) in the game. I'm sure Riot knew many of the Mordekaiser mains would be upset, but they also knew that some of the fans are so committed to him that they might also adapt to a new role and lead the way for new players to pick up on this amazing champion. Morde's playrate has increased since the rework, and its opened the way for them to release a non-marksman into the bot lane where it has a chance to be accepted as part of a changing meta. Morde was not a complete failure, he's just the first pioneer in a ever changing experiment by Riot, and eventually he will thrive again.

I do not thank them for the name "compromise."

Master of Metal is a direct reference to Metal music, not just his armor.

Riot said they were removing the Metal part because it no longer made sense...

Every singe ability of his, including his new passive from the rework is a reference to a metal song.

And now they're like "Okay we'll put metal back but not 'Metal' we'll put in Iron that way we're still changing it" although WHY EVEN CHANGE IT???

I appreciate your passion, but I am definitely willing to take the 'Iron Revenant' over 'Lord of Death'- especially if this preserves some of Morde's identity. Let us instead turn out heads to the msot important bit- the problem of Morde's kit and how to bring him back to solo lane viability.

Shosuko3 votes

I'm kinda sickened this community is lapping up this paltry adjustment when the logic behind the change is completely unfounded.

"We think Metal is the part of him that doesn't fit."

Giant metal suit of armor, giant mace, and every ability a reference to a metal song. He began the Pentakill line and they made a metal album for him.

How is "metal" the part of him that doesn't fit?

"You're right guys, how about iron?"

How about not changing it?

Changing to Iron is no better than changing to Death. The word "Metal" meant more than just the physical attribute of his image.

Riot is really throwing away the champion with this one, and the community is suddenly their lap dog over it. With the passionate sentiment broken over this, we can't expect anything better to come for morde now.

LeprechaunJinx1 votes

The problem with Mordekaiser being known directly as the "metal mage" was that it gave a misdirecting title to what his background and lore actually are. Certainly metal themes and aspects pervaded every part of his old kit but it was misleading towards Mordekaiser's actual role in them, that of being bound within his own iron prison. Mordekaiser is trapped in that metal suit of his and uses his "grim manipulation of pain–both his own, and that of others" to torment his victims before enslaving his souls for his own uses.

This didn't really translate well with his in-game persona as it got overshadowed by his metal image. Aspects like his control of pain echoing his strikes of Mace of Spades to other targets as he sacrifices his own health, his torturing mentality that'd leave his enemies crippled before slowly crushing the life out of them before their loved ones didn't show up his his glass-cannon burst patterns, and a lot of the darker backgrounds to his abilities and identity got ignored for Riot's older tendency for jokes (things like Kennen or Gangplank which literally made jokes about their being so archetypal).

Shosuko1 votes

While he may have been nicknamed "metal mage" in the way Alistar can be referred to as "Cow," and Gangplank as "Pirate," his actual title was Master of Metal. This is what is being changed, and for no good reason.

They originally stated it was because the Metal was out of his kit, and yet every ability including his new ult passive Dragonforce is a reference to metal music, and his armor is still a big metal suit, and he still wields his big metal mace.

NOTHING about Master of Metal is gone except for the generic particle effects they gave him during the rework.

Worse still - they are not backpedaling, acknowledging that it was a dumb move to try "Lord of Death" but instead of just leaving what is good alone, they want to STILL take it away in favor of some silly thesaurus recommendation.

LeprechaunJinx1 votes

But those metal music references aren't necessarily part of his identity, they're closer to easter eggs than something tied directly into his lore or character identity. The Pentakill portion of Mordekaiser most closely relates to his musical identity for sure but neither Mordekaiser or his abilities were originally designed for that. Later on Riot capitalized on Mordkaiser's potential to be more directly related to music, but his abilities were named as they were references not core to his identity. It was the same way for things like the "Flippin Ninja" passives or Gangplank's "Scurvy" passive; they were there as little references and jokes but tied not at all into their champions' actual identities.

Mordekaiser is one of the oldest and most hallowed existences of the Shadow Isles, a being feared by all with only one true survivor to witnessing him. His Master of Metal title was an homage to his references of metal songs and metal as a whole when they were okay with Mordekaiser being more related to that, now however Riot is trying to reaffirm Mordekaiser's original identity as an ancient tyrant of the Shadow Isles. Keeping his abilities named as they were was to honor Mordekaiser's old relationship with music. Mordekaiser is not a music champion and Riot wants to honor what ties he had to metal music but are putting their foot down and pushing forward on his lore aspects. Whether or not this was intended, changing Mordekaiser's title from Master of Metal marked a decisive moment that they are definitively emphasizing Mordekaiser's lore over his community identity.

To discuss if Mordekaiser's previous title of "Master of Metal" is more fitting to his background and lore identity is a much different topic than if metal music is truly part of Mordekaiser's identity within the world and lore of League.

whenever I thought of morde, I always imagine him to be a big solo laning bruiser who never needed a support to get things done. his complete strength weighed down by the fact that he auto-pushed waves (not a dealbreaker for most laners) and that he was only deceptively tanky without actually being impossibly so. he could be fought, but you had to all in him, and not play footsies. that's the problem a lot of players had: they played like complete bitches, and morde punished playing like a bitch very hard. and I loved that. I could punish players playing like pansies and reward those who wished to fight like brave crusaders.

that's gone from new morde. he doesn't punish bitches, he just punishes melees for simply existing, and he gets punished by ranged/kiting by simply existing. his gameplay got a lot worse compared to his old gameplay, which is sad. he got far more toxic (if you can call his old punishing bitches playstyle toxic) because now he disallows melees from interacting with him while having 0 interaction with kiting and/or ranged mages

It doesn't matter how civil we are, how logical we are, and how persistent we are. Riot doesn't care and they always proceed with whatever crazy fotm idea they have. Riot employees feel righteous whenever they make a change, as if they couldn't possibly be wrong.

Go look at the Cassieopia, Karma, and Trundle mains. Each of those playerbases tried explaining why they didn't like certain or all aspects of the individual reworks. Time and again niche playerbases' mains get screwed around with. Unless your main is Lee Win or Riven or one of the other favorites of Riot, you cannot expect consistency with champions. Riot has a double-standard. And they always hide this double standard behind nice words that placate ignorant players.

I am sure that small number tuning won't do the trick with the current situation of Mordekaiser and Riot will have to decide if leaving him over the top and a pick/ban champion for the next years or invest in a middlerange rework.

I'd go for the second one ofc and I would make him less susceptible to CCs by giving him inbuilt tenacity but limiting his mobility (probably removing the speedboost from his W) so that mobility becomes the way to deal against him and enemies have to decide if stay and fight or get away to safety.

This won't do with his current offensive pattern, for this reason I'd remove the multiplyer on his Q and add another small gimmick while making all of abilities debuff enemies hit so that they take more damage from each morde skill that hits them (base/bonus numbers will have to be adjusted).

I think that the unstoppable Juggernaut that leaves fleeing as the only option to get away is more in line with his thematic.

SettDownShutUp2 votes

I really don't... like the dragon. Yeah it was a cool idea but it's not worth the tax, it's a bish to control. I'd personally prefer to be imbued WITH the dragon's soul. What that entails I'm not sure, maybe allowing mordekaiser more range on his skills? Maybe his AAs get a hydra like effect? I don't know.

http://www.lolking.net/guides/287506 ^ This is the reason why I can't accept the rework version no matter how hard i try to. That is my LoLKing Top Mordekaiser Legacy Guide that is now there to serve as tribute and nostalgia to Old Morde.

In that guide I managed to write all I know about Morde and how to be a dominant force at Top Lane with him.

Morde simply lost too much more with this update compared to what he gained, without mentioning all the problems he is bringing to both, the community, the game, and developers alike. He has lost big but that is something that only the old Mordekaiser users will understand, sadly.

The biggest problem for me is that he is no longer fun and it's only picked now due to how strong he is at the moment. I'm not asking for a full revert but for a closer path to what he used to be. I have dignity, I would never play a champion for how broken it is, rather for how fun and suitable is for my taste and style. Right now Morde is arguably broken and not as fun to play with and against as Old Morde. This was uncalled and unwanted for. We never asked for this.

This rework hasn't been well received for obvious reason but with the collaboration of the community, and the development team, I'm pretty confident and hopeful we can find happy terms concerning Mordekaiser. I'm really looking forward to embrace the changes but first we need to work on a better design for Morde and get him out of the hell he is in right now.

Old Morde was definitely less trouble than new Morde. Why not just revert his design while keeping the changes in order to keep the best of both worlds? Old and New. I'm talking about his base stats and core kit, I'm not interested in the dragon gimmick and I would gladly see it go away in exchange of his old base stats, especially the movement speed. 325 for a gapcloser-less, CCl-ess, squishy immobile champion is a massive overkill and instantly kills his solo lane capability. I would welcome Dragon Gimmick for better base stats any day. These stats don't necessarily scream Juggernaut to me.

  • His new Q needs better balance and design. (This is the main offender alongside the MS nerf and why he got crushed base stats-wise). I preferred old Q because it was more strategical and served as a secondary mean of poke when used strategically right.
  • His W is just a mess, why not revert it to Creeping Death or make it as close to it. Truth be told, the new W is just a horror show and is bringing every sort of issue to.. like... everything! Why over complicate things when Old Morde was quite less troublesome design wise compared to this version?
  • His E could use some tweaks here and there but overall the changes are livable and I can deal with them.
  • His R is nerfed in this version but I can live with it.
  • His Passive is quite weak now and makes me wonder why keep it if it's now useless. Old Passive was significant, this version's however is just an excuse to keep it within the kit. If you are bend in nerfing it then why not just remove it from the game and think of something else? Considering he is now the Iron Revenant and the passive name suits the new title altogether, again, why not just change it to something else rather than keeping the current nerfed yet insignificant one live?

TL;DR

Imho the main offenders of this rework:

  • 325 MS nerf for a immobile CC-less, Gapcloser-less champion that happens to be twice as kitable and squishier than before.
  • A Conditional 3 hit proc AA spell that makes you overcomiit while lacking the right too in order to be proficient by yourself. We don't need millions of recycled 3 hit proc in the game. We need more variety and new concept, we don't want many clone abilities.
  • His w is just a mess and an atrocity. Could have been implemented better but the person in charge clearly thought he knew best and decided this was the best way to make Morde "HEALTHIER". Next time try to listen to the community to avoid these kind of incidents.
  • His bases stats were crippled in order to crush him into serve the "Meta Breaking" mess he is currently in.

My opinion on what would be the best start to begin fixing him:

  • Revert his Movement speed to 340.
  • Tweak his base stats in order to make him legitimately be a Juggernaut and just a close range Nuker.
  • Rework his Q around his MS.
  • Rework his W or revert it back to Creeping Death, or change it to something less troublesome/conditional/as close to old W.
  • Tweak the new E or leave it as it is.
  • Tweak the new R or leave it as it is.

This Morde is nothing more than a Dumb Caveman mashing his Mace all around. There's no strategy, no diversity, less control. Just a mindless champion that is not even the shadow of his former self greatness. Thanks for reading.

I will say that the one time I fought Mordekaiser in lane (as Pantheon) I slowly lost any control due to my inability to block the damage from his third Q. Pantheon's passive did not work there. It should, but it didn't.

Anyway. I don't main Mordekaiser, I do have a friend who enjoyed him a lot before he pseudo-quit (one too many bad games. Only 2 wins out of 80 and he mains support. Says he'll get back in but idk) and he offered an idea that Mordekaiser can punish his opponents for retreating. If his shield is up, players who hit him in melee range gain a debuff that triggers when they run away. Either slowing them or hurting them.

Thematically it's his iron shards sticking into his opponent.

The trick is to not get your passive up until the he's on his 3rd Q proc. I assure you it works.

Thing is, it doesn't. Or maybe it depends on how Mordekaiser is built. If he's focusing AD then yeah. But there were multiple times where my shield was up, blocked the third Q and my health dropped crazy. I even used his W to activate it, jumping onto Mordekaiser to draw out the third Q. Still broke through.

Pantheon's passive doesn't seem to stop magic damage or extra effects.

Mordekaiser Q is an empowered atk. They can not be dodge or blocked or parried Although they can miss

Interesting to learn that even Fiora's W cannot stop it.

I know Pantheon's passive has work arounds. I just don't think they make sense sometimes. He can block all the damage from Nasus Q just because it's only physical, but as soon as magical damage enters the picture (as thankfully explained by the wiki Mordekaiser Poppy and TwistedFate) it doesn't block the damage but removes the passive anyway.

Of course just three champions isn't a cause for concern. I can live with that (We all live with annoyances). I just don't see why Pantheon's block can stop abilities that apply on hit effects (Gangplank Q for example) but can't block the empowered Autoattacks that provide CC ( like Garen or Leona stun).

I believe Meddler said that they'll maybe update this and Jax's dodge in the preseason, but that was said maybe a month ago and I saw no confirmation on that recently. So it's up in the air I suppose.

By no means am I trying to insult Mordekasier. I just dislike how one of the few things about Pantheon that I am rewarded for using well is negated like that.

Well how do you think Morde players would feel if all mordes dmg is negated by a passive. Ya sry your Passive doesn't work for that but I think that's designed. Countering a champion without even have to play isn't good gameplay

Oh I don't know, ask Nasus mains. Is Pantheon so common that it would be that much of a problem?

Are you trying to justify him having that damage ability as is? Haven't a lot of Mordekaiser players hated that ability?

His Q doesn't synergy with his kit and takes up all the power budget to the point were his W,E and Passive are not impactful to how you play him.

So what I'm saying is if the slowest MS Champion in the game gets close enough to hit you with his one Damage Ability. Then your Champion should be Dead

Ralanr1 votes

Well I guess I should be punished for using my passive to the best of my ability. Like I was arguing before, Pantheon isn't as powerful a counter to crazy Q Morde as people seem to label him as because his passive can't stop the Q and he has no escapes.

I'm by far no main, but before his rework I'd still play him once a month in pvp. He was fairly simple but powerful and impressive without being oppressive. His rework just changed too much; all of his abilities were changed to some lame & boring animation, ontop of the fact he lost 2/3 of his aoe making it near impossible to solo most other top laners from his lack of mobility & CC (teemo, pantheon, ext.).

He used to be fun & satisfying to play; but since they dropped ALL of his stats among the rework ( http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-feedback/KhcvQBlG-mordekaiser-change-summary-feedback-thread ) he's more frustrating to his own player than the enemy team. It's like the sona rework all over again, it's disheartening that this kind of spite is enforced.

This very thread is the reason why Riot is so hesitated to pick up a fan idea.
