I think it's time we all took a good hard look at Warwick

And realize that he might be a bit out of line.

I know we all like to tell ourselves that the Warwick rework was one of Riot's best yet, and thematically I would agree. But I think this initial excitement has allowed us to become blind to the state of his power relative to other junglers. He has the safest clear in the game, immense dueling power, very impactful ganks both pre-6 and post-6. When you look at his kit objectively, it's difficult to point out any obvious weaknesses. He's such a strong generalist that he reminds me of what Lee Sin and Elise used to be a few seasons ago. There's literally never a situation where you would be wrong to pick Warwick, and this worries me.

  • His clearing pre tiamat is actually garbage.
  • There are still a few early game junglers that can out duel Warwick (Jax & Xin being two notable ones).
  • His ultimate can be dodged and at times dodges itself.
  • He falls off (Warwick is amazing early and mid game, but like most junglers like this he fals off tremendously lategame).

IMO he still has clear weaknesses like lack of range, AOE and significant mana costs. But I agree that he may be strong as can endure quite a lot, duel and brings good CC to the table. But my problems with him come from not his balance, but design. He's far from interactive enough. He has basically guaranteed combo as he can with his targeted Q jump on you which if timed well ensures his E fear and when you're feared you cannot dodge his ult. Ale his W is quite stupid in that I believe every ability should be somehow usable in direct combat, because something like he has right now only limits his options in combat and therefore makes fighting him and watching his fights boring. I feel like they tunnel-visioned on his ult since it was practically the only thing he could really threaten with pre-rework.
