I Think Miss Fortune is like a Jack-of-All-Trades

I'm pretty sure Miss Fortune is a jack-of-all-trades. (Although you could also say she's a 10-of-all-trades.)

She can kinda poke with her Q. She's kinda mobile with her passive. She kinda has CC with her E. She kinda does aoe with her ult. She kinda does mixed damage with her W and ult. She's kinda a lane-bully with her Q. She can kinda duel with her W. She kinda has burst her Q. She kinda does good sustained damage with W.

This all leads to a champion that's kinda viable and kinda has an identity. I'm just observing things in this thread and telling other board readers about my observations.

Edit: Oh yeah, I actually really like Miss Fortune. She's really fun, even if she's kinda subpar as an adc (and as a apc ;). )

Except she's a very good lane bully and has a great roaming passive. No carries have as reliable a roaming passive (Sivir and Quinn have to burn their ults to roam, others have to burn their escape) Q can chunk very hard if you bounce a kill shot onto a carry (I frequently see it do 1/4 of a carry's HP.)

In addition, she has some pretty good kill potential early game as well.

Well her laning phase is overpowered as fuck, you can't out trade her.

She still feels lackluster as shit

The thing that pushed her from "lane bully" to jack of all trades was the grievous removal combined with worse Q AI. The Q often dissappears in the middle of chasing down someone and does no damage. Sure it has the potential to do more, but about 25% of the time you get it off to bounce to the right target it just dissappears.

I don't really have any reason to pick Miss Fortune at all. I want a champion that has reasoning behind picking them. I used to pick her because she had grieve wounds. You know, the thing that counters Vlad, Mundo, etc? She just doesn't have a purpose for existing anymore.

I would also like to point out to people this very important thing that should be taken a look at when deciding if a champion is strong or not:

If a champion is so very extremely situational on power levels throughout the game, like bard for example. They are usually not a good pick and will not be a good pick throughout the game.

Yeah, I see where you are coming from. I've been playing her a bit recently, (when did the 150% crit damage chance on her Q happen?) and she's been fun to me. A strong early and mid game, but if you don't get super fed, she can fall off. As far as her being lackluster, I find her ult to be the greatest offender. Magic damage on her W is counter-intuitive, but having mixed damage on AAs isn't the worse thing out there. Her ult though, just feels really awful after a certain levels. I mean, its great for some level 6 burst, or finishing someone off under a tower, but after like level 14-15 just feels pretty meh. At that point you probably are doing more damage with AA's then the damage from it on opponents.

I think she's great, now that you pint it out, for JUST this reason. I never thought about it, I just knew that she was my go-to when I wasn't sure who to roll with. MF mid can really pack a punch in bronze, haha. There's nothing like making it rain on fizz right after a troll pole vault then Q for the kill. Full on AP MF w/AP masteries can drop some devastating rain as MF support, too. Gnar

it would be extremely rare for me to even consider pressing the e button ever when i play mf. it really doesn't slow much, and it doesn't do damage. it costs a lot of mana. i think on average out of 10 games i might press the e button once.

I really disagree. She's not much of a jack of all trades. She does a few things quite well,(but in very uninteresting and/or generic ways), and she does many things extremely poorly.

She can kinda poke with her Q.

Past the laning phase, this ability just gets used at autoattack range. Without the ult, her effective range out of the laning phase is pretty much autoattack range. I wouldn't call this poke. If this counts as being poke, than every ADC that isn't Vayne has poke.

She's kinda mobile with her passive.

Let's be real, in a fight, she's one of the least mobile AD carries. The only carries less mobile than her are the ones who have literally no mobility. I'd take any other form of mobility over hers. If she's kinda mobile, than Sona is kinda tanky and Darius is kinda long ranged and Janna kinda does tons of damage.

She's kinda a lane-bully with her Q.

There's no kinda here. She's a lane bully. She's probably the single biggest lane bully out of all AD carries right now.

She kinda does good sustained damage with W.

Again, I wouldn't say kinda. She does good sustained damage. It's not a very interesting mechanic, but it does let her do a lot of autoattack damage.

There are a ton of team comps that she just doesn't work against, a lot of teams she can't work with, and many situations in general where she ends up being an absolutely terrible pick. That's not a jack of all trades.

i think jack-of-all trades is a 100% shitty identity that doesn't say anything

No sustain.

Good news is, riot is already working on giving an identity to her! I thin their intentions is to make her ult very impactful in TFs as it should since it looks realllyyy cool.

has e been changed at all in the last couple years?

i wouldn't even call that pitiful slow "kinda cc."

Phife9/11/2015, 2:24:39 AM1 votes

shes kinda not viable and kinda doesn't do anything beyond a 'sub-par' level.
