Over 2000 AP?!?!

So I really like the new Veigar mechanic for stacking AP. I think it will make him feel a lot stronger.

As always buying item 3089 will be core on him. The +35% AP will only make him scale harder.

I think a very underrated item for supports to build in combination with AP champions is item 3050. Adding an additional +20% AP while active.

NOW I'm hearing that the Blue Buff will give an additional +15% AP!!!

35% + 20% + 15% = 70%

Now to get something like 2000 AP, you would have to have over 1176 base AP, ... which is a lot, but is definitely possible with Veigar.

I don't know if this blue buff change will make it to live servers, but if it does, ... am I the only one who thinks this sounds a little crazy?

Edit, it was brought to my attention that third stack on fire dragon gives 24% AP as well.

So now we have a bonus of +94% AP

1030 base AP +35% item 3089 +20% Active item 3050 +15% Blue +24% 3x Fire Dragon = 2000 AP

Veigar has always been strong. Now he's practically a Nasus 2.0 reloaded to destroy with every ability. I think Redmercy said he had an extra 200 AP by the 20 minute mark with Veigar. So yeah, Veigar definetely going to be an lcs champion again like he was season 5, and at worlds.

I think all and all, I still rather face a Veigar than a Malzahar.

At least Veigar will no longer one shot APs by pressing R

It's an executable now, but even then with enough AP, he will 1 shot squishies, especially adc's.

Against a full health target his new ult deals only 325 + 0.75 AP, at rank 3 Unless youre super fed will be impossible one shot someone before 50min mark

When you are easily pushing 1000 AP, 0.75 = 750 damage. So 1075 damage.

Sure that isn't a 1 shot, .. but wait. If you land a single Q and that's about 900 damage, and your W does about 1400 damage, ...

So no, you can't 1 shot anyone with a single ability, but after either Q or W, or maybe even both would be needed for tanks, you're very close if not already within execute range with your ultimate.

If you don't believe me, Anklespankin did a video on the PBE.

over 1K AP at 25 minutes into the video, with just Rabadon's and Blue. Throw in Zeke's and a fire dragon or two and one-shots looks a bit more possible.

I think will be multiplicative, something around 47%, not 70%

notice me Sin pi1 votes

if they are multiplicative, then it would give 86.3% bonus AP

you did your math the wrong direction.

show me the correct math plz?? if (1.35 x 1.2 x 1.15) - 1 is not the correct math

1 - ( 1 - .35) * (1 - .2) * (1 - .15) = 55.8%

i had to get a friend to give me the answer.

It actually took me a long time to figure out what your math was even solving for. 55.8% is the amount of AP you would have before the additional AP is granted vs the amount of AP you would have after. The amount of AP you would have in total is still 70% greater than the amount you receive from items runes masteries, abilities, buffs, and other factors aside from this +XX% AP bonus we are talying about (or I guess we are coining this you're "base AP" ... which still isn't a thing)

notice me Sin pi1 votes

so with blue + rabadon + zekes, it's bonus 58%. according to how u got the answer: without anything, it's 1 x (1 - 0) x (1 - 0) x (1 - 0) = 100%. with only rabadon, it's 1 x (1 - 0.35) = 65%.

Your math is clearly flawed, even by common sense

I don't know but it could be more than additive. by that I mean either rabadons or dragon buffs increase both the base AP you have and the Passive ap you get from either of those. who knows for now

There is no such thing as base AP. You only have one number for AP because all of the AP that you get comes from runes, masteries, items, abilities and buffs. There are no champions who gain AP as base stats, .. currently.

what I meany by base AP is the number ap you get from items. dumb fuck am not an idiot

I'm sorry, maybe my response was a bit blunt. I do know what you mean when you say 'base AP', but I figured you were referring to that in the same way that BASE AD is a statistic. I now understand that you know this, but there are no abilities that interact solely with your AP before it is multiplied by 1.x, where x is the total of the bonuses mentioned in this post (for example Rabadon's is 1.35), so there is no use for the term otherwise. Even those effects are only as a result of unique item effects and buffs, so your overall AP stat is only one number.

{quoted} 35% + 20% + 15% +24% 3x Fire Dragon = 94%

+4% from sorcery (increased spell damage, which is more than AP) +2% dmg double edge sword +5% from bounty hunter (or 2.5% from oppressor)

Now to get something like 2000 AP, you would have to have over 1176 base AP, ... which is a lot, but is definitely possible with Veigar.

yes, i agree him getting AP from even farting is OP, as i usually dislike ALL infinite scaling, be it Nasus or whatever.
