Seriously? Hate Spike Doesn't Prioritize Champions!?

I played Evelynn jungle for the first time in recently memory and I was chasing down an Irelia in the top lane. I I was about to finish her off with a Hate Spike, but instead of lashing out at her it went and hit the creep wave behind me! Seriously? I can't believe that ability works like that. Hate Spike should prioritize champions over anything else imo. Rito plz fix.
