What the meta should be:

I think people are picking the wrong things and are getting frustrated by the game as result.

So ever since season 8 started people have been upset by the amount of damage in the game. Also everyone seems to pick ccless all damage champions. Honestly though, this is a mistake. Tanks are in a good place, and in a environment where damage is higher than in the past, tanks and cc are needed more than ever. Team comp matters more than ever.

Here is my quick List of champions id like to see more of in each role:

Top: Camile Urgot Maokai Darius Olaf (situational niche pick) Tahm Kench Ornn Jax Riven Renekton (not built pure dmg) Gnar Malphite (situational)

Pick less: Vlad, and GP

Jungle: Ornn Warwick Rek'sai Rammus (situational) Jax Hecarim J4 Elise Zac Sej Amumu Skarner Olaf (situational) Poppy VI

Pick less: Lee sin, Kha

Mid: Ziggs Lux Kassadin Kat Syndra Annie Leblanc Zed Talon Yasuo Orianna

AOE burst mages are up, single target assassins are down but are more situational niche picks. You should default to an AP mid unless your team needs the extra physical damage.

Bottom: Miss Fortune Jihn Xayah Draven Jinx Trist Varus Ziggs Caitlyn

Scaling late game ADCs are down, they took a hit once relic shield nerf came through. Poke is the king of Bot lane again. Marksmen that are good/decent at all stages of the game are at the top. Games are faster than before, fewer kills matter more.

Support: Sion NamI Blitz Leona Taric Lulu thresh Janna Alistar

As a support main you should be defaulting to a tanky cc Neutral support (Sion is my pick). If you are deep in the pick order you should be counter picking very heavy. You should have some AP burst mages ready as pocket picks in case your team needs some good magic damage, someone like Vel, Brand or Zyra. Think about how team fights will play out, are they Ad and engage heavy? Taric is your Man, Are they protect the adc comp? You need dive and disruption, Leona is your girl. Does your team already have solid dive, and font line? Then a back line support is what you want! Janna, Nami, Lulu are your picks.

Too many team comps are filled with ccless all damage champions. You need more than this if you want to stack up against a real team comp. Champions that have CC still do tons of damage (looking at you Annie). Having CC for catch potential is really important and can net you key objectives.

This is a team game, even if it feels like you have to put the team on your back to win. You need to pick for the team and work with the team if you want to win. MOAR damage is not always the answer, in fact it usually is not.
