I love League's champions, but hate the current gameplay

As someone who has been playing mobas for a long time, League has by far the best roster IMO. I love playing things like Thresh, Ezreal, and Lee Sin. No other moba has champions/heroes that are even comparable to the levels of satisfaction these champions bring when played properly. In fact, in ARAM, I am happy to play 80%+ of the roster. There are only a handful of champions I straight up do not find fun (Trundle, Sejuani, Soraka, Xayah, several others)

However, I hate the damage/burst meta vortex that has swallowed this game in the last few years. It all started with keystones, and then runes reforged, meanwhile champions/classes get reworks, defensive items get nerfed, offensive items buffed...all in the last 3-4 years. The damage is absurd at all stages of the game, and I hate it.

The only reason I even still play this game instead of something like DotA 2 is because of the roster. DotA 2's heroes are just so god damn boring. I have tried every single one of them, and maybe 5 or 10 are moderately fun.

I know there is a lot of negativity going around lately, and I just wanted to throw my hat in the ring as to why I still play this game despite hating the current flow of the game.

TL;DR - LoL champions are awesome, but the high damage gameplay is miserable. Other mobas might have better game flow, but their rosters are just way too boring for me to get into.

This has been the complaint of the boards since season 5... Riot just won't listen.

Whats funny is how much the community, especially on the boards seems to have shrunken.

You used to see 1000+ upvote threads in what only took 1 day... Now at best you see a good 200 thread every now and again...

I hate how "skill expression" has now come to champions with a million dashes that juke every single skillshot.

I agree but sadly there are no other MOBAs that are any good imo.

the problem is the lack of ways to play the game, if we had things like the rotating game modes, and hell even stuff like capture the flag in a party mode, i would be far more interested in playing the game

This is what happens when a game goes from a bunch of nerds making something awesome, to a corporation with a board of directors (and then bought by a Chinese conglomerate). Its just how it is man. Esports, customer attraction, etc.

Agreed, the smallest mistake equals death, unless you're playing a mobile champ.
