What's with the new launcher?

Loads with this, login, shows a giant "PLAY" button that takes the entire size of the client....that simply launches the old client?
What's the point?

slow down login process. that's about it.
remember they promised to let us stay logged in? that's about it. cheer up, theres no need to wait for it to load anymore!
Yes, because the stay logged in feature definitely works, just like the launcher itself. .-.
Mine just randomly switched to that new launcher... And I hate it. It actually loads much more slowly for me than the old launcher did. I'd rather have to enter my username and password every time.
Also, it's "cleaner" but not better. It doesn't say "League of Legends" to me, it just feels like Riot's new branding. So on top of not being as fast, it's also just not as good because it takes me out of my element. The old launcher with the video playing and the music was great.
New launcher is worse than old one. There was no load time, now there's an annoying load bar. New launcher? Trash. Hotel? Trivago.
