Re-Rework Swain

I don't know if riot know, as there is a lot of misinformation out there, but Swain ISN'T strong himself atm.

He can make his TEAM strong and effective by just making their CC better, if he could only pull on his own CC, his winrate would plumet.

He being played as a support atm, he isn't being played as the raidboss he is meant to be by riots own intentions.

Let me be clear ON RIOTS OWN ROADMAP, THEY SAID THEY WANTED SWAIN TO BE A STRONGER RAIDBOSS THAN HE WAS BEFORE SO HIS ULT WOULD BE GOOD EVEN IF HE WAS BEHIND.

TO COMPENSATE FOR THIS IT WAS MEANT TO HAVE AN ADDITIONAL COST AND MUCH HIGHER COOLDOWN.

Old swain not considered OP, actually considered average or quite bad by a lot of people.

Old Swain Ult - 10 second cooldown (upped to 20), damage 50-70-90 + 20% of ap, heals 75% of damage dealt BEFORE resistances, infinite duration with mana, can target and hit 5 units at once, higher range + 20% more damage from torment.

New Swain ult - 120 sec cooldown, soul requirement, 12 sec duration, 35 / 50 / 65 + 14% of ap, healing 20 / 35 / 50 + 16% AP

Old Swain: has defensive in W, can root multiple people and used to zone.

New Swain: E has to come back before rooting, meaning enemy sidestep, it hit oppoenents behind, or you just die instantly before it comes back, Swain is 3 ability hero because W is literally useless, even if it hits since you level it last.

(New swain W also does less damage rank than cho'gath Q, has far higher cooldown, far higher mana cost, far slower, yet not even hard CC when hits)

His clear is weaker than old swain which is commonly complained about, and old swain never even ever had that good a clear.

His base stats are even lower than old swain, a good bit lower, I mean for the love of god guys, please just see reason!

Do I really have to keep saying this, is my obvious sanity really so forign to everyone here, can't we all just agree that he is bad, he is only good at empowering teams and you can't have fun running about like a fed carry raidboss like we all used to on him, and which was the PURPOSE AS SAID BY RIOT THEMSELVES ON ROADMAP OF THE REWORK TO MAKE HIM MORE OF A RAIDBOSS.

If you disagreee you are literally disagreeing with riot, remember two teams designed him, one had to quit half way and another took over, that is literally why he isn't properly designed, if riot took another look at him I bet the decision makers wouldn't be happy with the results.

I'm pretty sure old Swain was much stronger

New Swain is kinda but but his Old CD is too high comparing to the old one Souls part is so annoying , he should have at least 1 Soul lol , it feels bad when you walk , a Kha Zix jumpx on you , you can't hit e or w , so can't Ult , then die

His E is a meme , it's to easy to dodge and gets blocked easily

I actually max W second :/ Swain is solid right now as a more tanky burstish mage. I have no issues landing E as you just read the opponent by forcing an AOE denial with W.

They need to undo the rework, the last rework was a total abomination and nobody plays him now. And not only do they need to undo the rework, they need to buff him considering he is just an inferior version of vlad.

honestly i think hes fine though ... just needs some buffs in places .... extra healing on ult or extra hp on ult or extra damage .... he when hes not ulting he should play like a general leading the way .,.. not going for solo kills or anything just getting them picks with the team and when hes ulting he should be a huge threat getting kills when possible ...

I 100% agree with what you are saying on this post. Currently, Swain is extremely weak and is certainly no raid boss. Here are the 3 resolutions that I came up with.

  • (simplest) adjust his q so it has a longer range but less of a spread. Allow his bolts to move through the first wave of minions and deal % of dmg to the wave behind (Think akali q) - This would allow him to continue as the burst mage he is right now but actually be able to hit your e w q combo and not getting chunked for making a trade rather actually capitalizing on catching your opponent out and getting real value out of it. It would also allow him to farm consistently.

  • (out there idea) Adjust his abilities ultimate - I feel like there was so much potential missed with the new swain ultimate. One thing swain lacks is mobility, swain often finds himself getting cc'd out or slowed when he uses his ultimate. Swain channels a demon when he casts his ult growing in size and looks fairly sinister but his normal q e w doesn't match his visuals or playstyle during that period of time. I think his q e w should transfer into a gap closing melee kit. He would gain armor magic resist slight move speed (bruh has wings come on moving 380) and actually see that satanic hand put to work thrashing your opponent up close. Also, bring back old w root during this period of time to hinder opponents, and lastly e would throw out the same grip but instead of slightly moving your opponent towards you it has demonic leap where you jump to your opponent. Q would be similar to hecarim Q.

  • Lastly revert to the old swain we know the one true raid boss that we grew to love.

I know these ideas are kinda way out of the ballpark but I would love to hear your thoughts.

New Swain isn't bad, but he could use some QoL buffs and a couple regular ones.

The easiest buff would be to let his new ult drain from 5 people thus rewarding him for being knee deep in team fights where he is supposed to be.
