Another series lost because of DC

This ranking system seriously needs to be changed at least in low elo when 4v5 are more prevalent. Literally have more reliable players in normals

Unfortunately that's the luck of the draw, I agree though I'm less likely to have an afk/dc/leaver in normals than in ranked, I have no idea why that is.

its just so frustrating hitting series 3+ times and losing every time because of a troll or afk. getting out of bronze one has the be one of the hardest things in existence because of the higher elo matchups (matched with as high as a plat V) and the constant afking,arguing, trolling.

It happens, and it sucks when it does. But I do have to point out, you play enough games you will be at the elo you deserve.

Just look for flaws in your own gameplay and screw those other guys.

thanks for the advice and i always try to do whats best for the team but i would at the very least like to have a fighting chance, winning 3 games in a series b1 is nearly impossible

With that, I would say try some champs are are good elo climbers who catch people out of position and punish them. Find one you like.

What does someone DCing/AFKing out of a game have to do with 'looking at the flaws in your own gameplay'?

Rating is irrelevant here. It's about game experience and the immediacy of the impact that playing with less than 5 people has on the game. On that point though, we don't all have endless hours to sit and farm rating. Losing a 50 minute game because someone says 'need to leave, gl' is NOT OK and if you think it is you have bigger problems than losing rating. If you also think that 'play more games' is a solution to having continuous DCs in games, then I don't know what to tell you.

On that point, FAR MORE DISCONNECTS are likely to occur in lower rated games than in higher rated games. It is FAR less likely to see people leave games in high plat/diamond and above. So it turns the cesspit of low elo League into an even more frustrating, horrid experience.

Why? Because I will be blunt, it wasn't one game that made him loose his promos. It wasn't one game that made him bronze. And do not act like this is a forum post is talking about a bug in the system.

But so what if it wasn't one game that made him lose his promos? DCing happens all the time in normals too, and it's just as big a waste of time as it is in ranked.

Like I said, we're not all college students playing League 30 hours a week and ignoring our workload. When we play a game we expect to be able to play a 5v5 game, as it is designed, or be compensated if it isn't one. Just because you don't value your time like others do does not make this acceptable.

High horse... get off it. First and foremost, League of Legends is a freaking game. No one in real life really gives a crap's stink about your elo. You can't pay your light bill in plat. Diamond isn't going to pay your rent. (See I can get on an even higher horse!)

So if you honestly want to talk about time, quite frankly that is laughable. I'm sorry that you are not challenger because you can't get to it in 4 games. I'm sorry that you think you are your elo because of all the DCs. But quite frankly that is not not the problem. YOU ARE.

True it sucks to have a D/C, hell in my LAST game just now I had a D/C. It's annoying as all hell! But it's one freaking game. And if that guy does it enough his account will be banned. (and he will most likely be crying on the forums how it isn't fair that he has a bad connection) End of story.

Why are you still talking *exclusively *about rating? You even relate 'wasting our time' back to elo - what? Do you have some kind of severe reading comprehension issue?

As already stated about three times, this is about a) wasting people's time and b) immediately impacting games that shouldn't be impacted and c) having fair games that determine games, series and rating.

So what if statistically the other team has a higher chance of having a DC? How does that matter at all? It's not about MY team being impacted, it's about the GAME being impacted. When I queue up for ranked I want a fair 5v5 game. I don't care if it's my team or the other team with a leaver. It's not exclusively about rating. It's about impacting the immediate gameplay experience for those 10 people and the outcome of that.

I couldn't care less if 'it all evens out in the end' (never seen any numbers to support this anyway, but it's still irrelevant), it is about the immediacy of the impact leavers have on games. There is no excuse to not have a 'mercy' function or something similar to compensate teams with a leaver at this point in this game's life. Simply punishing the leaver is NOT enough.

Yes, you are right! It isn't fun if the game is a 4v5. I want a good match, not a pub stomp. I 100% agree with that! But I REALLY get the feeling that isn't what you are talking about.

Do you have any data to back up that there are "FAR MORE DISCONNECTS" at lower elo? In my anecdotal evidence, there are more DC's in normals than Ranked. I've played 12 Ranked games and had 1 DC.

Also, looking at the statistics, as long as you are not the DC/AFK the other team has a higher chance of getting one. That would actually help you climb as there should be more wins than losses to DC/AFKs, given you play enough games. Ranked is about statistics and a long, long series of games. not about 10 or 20 games.

Meanwhile in normals i usually get a 4v5 maybe once or twice a month(and i play normals far more often).

The other point where you say the enemy is most likely to have 4v5. I have never had a single ranked game ever where the enemy was 4v5, it has never happened. Now these are just my experiences and maybe i am just unlucky however i think rank should accommodate for people this unlucky with afks and trolls.

That sucks, but if you play enough games (eg. 100+), it will even out. That is the accommodation that Ranked makes.

Think of it this way:

40% of your games are going to be lost due to DC/AFK/Feeder/Troll/etc on your team.

40% of your games are going to be won due to a DC/AFK/Feeder/Troll/etc on the enemy team.

Only about 20% of the games you play in Ranked will you be able to have any meaningful impact in. It is those games that you have to identify and make sure your contribution is positive and leads your team to a win.

In my honest Opinion if someone DCs in a ranked game and doesn't come back they should lose 50LP and their team should get loss prevented. In the event that they are in series they should lose it. There is no excuse to play ranked unless you are 100% sure you will be able to play the entire game.
