Fastest way to get downvotes -> Azir isn't OP. Stop crying.
Let the massive dumb anti-Azir circlejerking commence.

He still isn't weak. Can i say there is an anti-anti-azir circlejerk? We are the ones using LCS play and explaining why he is OP while you just say, "URRRR CRYYYING" And how did he do that? By using the champion that is strong. You don't see ashe pulling huge team displacements. you don't see lissandra blocking off an entire exit and resulting in the deaths of 3 enemies. Did you pay attention to the zoning part? Pobelter zoned out the ryze (forgot who) using the soldiers. Being able to zone is fine, just not along side the playmaking abilities of the ult.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he is weak, but Azir isn't OP by any means. The fact that a Ryze got zoned out by Azir is not at all surprising given that Ryze is low-mid ranged mage. He is very zone-able. Also, by your standard of blocking off entire exits, you could say Taliyah is OP as well. Furthermore, Gragas is capable of huge team displacement. Even more so than an Azir and able to do so much more safely as well.
He's op in LCS and riot is trying to fix that. He still isn't weak in dynamicQ though. that is true although it does not fix his waveclear. Yes, she is, that's why she too is getting nerfed. The major difference though is azir's ult deals damage, is instant (no cast time/projectile speed) and works as a great self peel.
Taliyah's ult may be slower to cast, but it also works as great self peel. I've used it on occasion successfully peeling myself. It makes sense though that they would nerf based on LCS standards. It's the only standard they use.
Furthermore, Taliyah's ult has far greater range, greater coverage and acts as a great mobility skill when needed. The damage on Azir's Ult is pretty negligible.
Well not totally. See a huge issue occurs. Yi is balanced of DQ ranked and same with most champions. That also means they can't leave stuff like azir dominant forever in LCS.
cast time means a lot. Her ult fucks over her team too. She also does not have the same sustained damage that azir does, it's hard to compare a burstier mage with one big combo and a full caster playstyle against a champ like azir who is one of a kind.
Yea except the original contention was about blocking off exits. Given the correct conditions for either ult, either of them can be considered OP by your standard. It has nothing to do with the playstyle or damage output.
my negrep-whoring game is 2 gud
in all srs bizness tho
Azir vs Ryze... Azir has a lot longer range than Ryze, and Ryze is completely immobile. Of course Azir is able to zone him. As for his ult, doing a successful Shurima shuffle without getting yourself killed, ulting the wrong way, and not fucking over your own team either, takes a huge amount of skill. Most players won't ever have that sort of skill. The ones that do play along other players who have a similar amount of skill.
Trundle icepillar, Anivia wall, Taliyah wall, Jarvan coliseum, etc can all do things like blocking off an entire exit and resulting in a lot of deaths for the enemy side, with some of them being able to actually go in and duel because they're not super squishy. Several champs have huge team displacement options, Azir's not that special.
Does not account for the waveclear. He can still zone other champions. Not really. I've done it. I think most players can, its about decision making and knowing "hey i shouldn't go in 1v5 to attempt a shuffle" ive done it. Ive seen it.
trundle's pillar does not damage and is not as wide. anivias wall fucks over her team too. J4s ult fucks over his team too, and none of them knockback. And most champions also have damage dealing abilities, but some are better than others.
I mean a big part of it is just low-tier Azir players also being against other low-tier players who don't know for shit how to play against him.
I am talking about LCS. He is weak in dynamicQ but you cannot let him be a completely dominant pick in LCS forever. I wish there was a way for azir to be nerfed in LCS only, but there isn't. I stopped playing him after getting mastery 6 becasue of his nerfs (also i like playing ez shit like teemo xD)

This is why I hate the concept of League as a sport; or at least, playing League for money with more or less the same game as everyone who doesn't. Eventually they'll probably balance Azir so he's no longer unbalanced in LCS, and then he'll be completely worthless in every other game...
it's not the playing for money that is the issue. It's the skill level of the people playing for said money. you can't balance shit like mastery yi and azir off just LCS. Master yi would be a cancer to this world and azir would be balanced.
The Problem with Azir is basically just tradeoffs. For example what does Cass give up for her High sustained damage, burst and waveclear?
By comparison, Azir has all of those things, plus
All for the cost of:
And thats really it, beyond the standard weaknesses of mages of his class. He metaphorically does both get to have his cake and eat it. All these nerfs do is say that if you get to keep that strength/weakness profile, all of his other tools will be weaker in general to compensate.
Yes, he's incredibly versatile and strong. But almost no one can actually utilize that strength. Save for LCS players and then a few other LCS-level/higher-level players. And for the rest of the normal players, he's absolute trash.
- Did you watch IMT vs CLG game 3 last night? Pobelter set up a shurima shuffle and destroyed the enemy team with wildturtle. He has too much waveclear and zone control for a champion with that much playmaking capabilities.
I quote this simply to note a point. Saying AZIR isn't OP isn't the fastest way to get downvotes. Saying League is not and will most likely never be a sport is the fastest way to get downvotes. :)
People downvoting you for that are idiots. It's not a sport, it's an Esport.
