What meta?

You mean the abuse of the best champions of their generic role? The "meta" of picking the champion that is statistically the strongest? Because I see absolutely no other meta here in season 8. LoL is currently useless.

I remember when mechanics in champions' kits (like Heimerdinger's turrets) were respected, characters could actually be tanky and supports could actually support without abusing busted items. Back 7 seasons ago. Now every champion is watered down and ultimately is only played if they abuse runes the hardest and whether or not they have an adequate amount of utility in whichever role they've been shoehorned into.

The upcoming marksman changes shouldn't be reveled over. There were multiple potentially better and certainly more creative ways to change them and despite their ultimate control over the game marksmen were only ever a hint of the problem. Runes now make or break champions as leads are now dictated solely by levels. I don't know how the devs ever thought that Runes Reforged was ever a worthwhile change. The item pool is now a joke, even moreso that crit items will be nerfed as they were the last effective thing worth building that weren't support items. Bad players will now be able to throw games harder than ever before as well, and good players will make the game more miserable for enemy teams than ever before as well as their own.

This is rock bottom...or at least very close to it.
