We could have our old support item actives back if we snuck the free wards from Support items into the trinket slot.
To distinguish the trinket from the free wards, add a toggle; pressing and holding the trinket key could switch between them.

The button for the wards, I mean, not the wards themselves. You would lose the wards if you sold it.
