I'm surprised not many people main Gnar
He's everything into one.
Mobility CC Stun Knockbacks Tank Damage Range AA Melee AA Free HP Slows NO MANA Cute Fearsome
Like why don't people play this dude so often?

My issue with Gnar is that it's a game of management and a lot of champions can bait him around it fairly well, not the least being the ubiquitous Jayce.
Neither Mini Gnar nor Mega Gnar do anything in particular that other champions cannot. While Mega Gnar has some very impressive area control, he has to be very point blank to use it and it's a pretty clear window for him and his targets of, "I'm going to jump into your team, corral and throw you into a wall. Please do not interrupt this for me." His mechanic is incredibly easy to read and as a result, makes him a challenging fit.
It's a very cool gameplay mechanic and he probably roughs up some champions real nasty. It's just that with half the forethought and planning, other champions get the job done more smoothly and with less general hoping one of the steps don't get fucked up in the process.
Hes only half of everything half of the time and hes the other half of everything the other half of the time. Unlike graves who is nearly everything at all times.
Gnar is extremely fun if you learn to abuse each forms stats and it feels great when you do a solid ult wombo. His kit is fun, unique, and his character is lovable. Sadly, most people would prefer better overall results with less effort so he isn't very popular.

I love his snowday skin and el leon
Early game sucks against high dmg champs that do well early, his mid isn't too bad and to me it's a good pocket pick.
Hard to play at first, hard to kite because so many new champs get ways to engage/disengage. Like these top laners

He falls of late. Not Tanky if you dont build it, and you need the core items like Cleaver and Mallet. So that prolongs you getting tanky.
I love Gnar, definitely my top 3 favorite champs but he is in a bad place right now.
most people haven't stooped that low in their lives

then why do so many people play
then why do so many people play
I'm guessing it's because Jayce can 100-0 the enemy while Gnar takes a bit more work. Jayce is not really a team player, he feels more of a poke/assassin while Gnar is team play and catching enemies.
i was saying jayce more so for the fact he is way more cancerous to face than gnar and big lincoln was saying that people didn't play gnar because they hadn't stooped that low

I love gnar i really do, he's a fun and well designed champ w/ enough complexity and counterplay. However because he is a "jack of all trades master of none" w/ his miniform being a squishy DPS kiter, and his Mega form being more of a vanguard he is really niche.
Good damage & tankyness in a teamfight?
does it better, want consistent damage/splitpush power-
do it better, Tanky engager/pick potential
and
are way better.
also
is very item dependent, and basically has to build
first, which gives him some damage and HP but no resistances so he will still get shredded by focus-fire.
He's also super vulnerable to being locked down and ganked due to how incredibly squishy he is in mini-form.
You're right, there is no real reason to pick
when other champs can do what he does better, sure he has 2 forms making him able to deal with more stuff, but being gated by a rage bar that everyone can see makes him so predictable and unreliable.
In team fights, unless you're able to keep on check the rage bar your not a threat by any means.
His early game is awfull, he is really squishy and can be bursted down by anyone, his jump has a long cd and can be interrupted, on top of it at level 1 he has only 400 range.
His damage falls off and he has no really carry potential by it's own, even if you are fed he's a team reliant champ, and in solo Q people don't play for the team.
I think he's pretty balanced with clear strengths and weaknesses, even if his win rate was laughable and they buffed his hp regen for it.
About this
, i don't remember the last time i bought it on
.
I don't understand why people say it's a core item, gnar can kite and chase well without it, this makes gnar brain dead to play and unfun for both gnar and his enemy.
It doesn't give resistances and trying to jump on a fight with
it's a suicide.
I wouldn't mind if they removed it, but i think im just too bad at this game to understand why it's good on him.
he's really fun to play but, if he becomes a solid pick in solo q, it probably means he's broken in pro play.
He always has a far below 50% winrate, 46.8% right now. He’s op in competitive because he has disengage and needs no ganks even when he gets camped, and he’s still great in 5v5 teamfights. In short you rarely snowball so it’s kinda boring, and he is hard to win with.
