Why I wish all my teammates could play the Assassin role

I wish everyone could play assassin well. Not because of the burst but the skills this role teaches. Namely positioning. Playing an assassin effectively requires knowing when to go in and when to just walk away. You can't just penta kill an entire enemy team with Kat (well you can but) and expect a good result. Playing as an assassin teaches you how and when to flank.

Now this translates to other roles extremely well. If your entire team is chasing an enemy which will eventually turn into a team fight, typically the carries are in the back so that when you catch up they are in your back line. This is where assassins shine at picking off carries because there is limited peal and the enemy team is focusing on the chase. But if the assassin gives themselves away the entire enemy team can collapse kill the assassin and then they continue chasing the previous targets or pushing towers.

However some players don't play like this simple because they don't know how. They simply chase the original target because a team fights going to happen anyway so why bother? Except it makes a huge difference because the assassin is part of they carry component of the enemy team. Your team fight is going to go so much better without them

tl;dr: The assassin position would teach players the value of positioning and improve team fighting tremendously

These are my thoughts on why I wish everyone could play the assassin role

Clever. I never really thought about it like that. Maybe I should practise some assassins to get a better feel for this! I'm sure it would be a useful experience. Especially for when I have to protect the carries.

Say, which are some good assassins for learning these things? They don't need to be easy to play and I need the practise anyways.

The cheapest IP wise would be akali or katarina. Katarina has a much lower ban rate but is a tad harder to learn with more hard counters (cc and your ult is useless which is half your damage). Zed is a personal favorite of mine and rengar is good but difficult to learn

Okay, thanks for the tip! Truth be told though, I already play Kat. Very rarely though, as... Well, I just don't usually get mid lane, and she's not exactly a very safe pick.

I'm gonna give Akali and Rengar a shot though, but not Zed. I've done a Twisted Treeline with him once, and I absolutely hated the way he plays. He just didn't sit well with my playstyle. (Ironically, I didn't actually do that bad.)
