I am pleasantly surprised with the Talon rework
My favorite assassin. I was worried the rework would gut his playmaking dive assassinations and 1vs1 surprise kills, gut his ability to take out squishies quickly, and leave him with tokens in return; but actually I find his new form funner and more effective.
Jumping over walls is a lot of fun for the tactics it can bring into the mix, opening up dive potential, surprise potential, and potentially just increasing your speed somewhat to get to a kill. It can also function as an escape in the right position. He doesn't just look similar to assassin's creed, he now plays like it.
His passive and reworked abilities make him a viable jungle now, which I think is the biggest boon to his gameplay - because his ganking style always suited a jungler to begin with, IMO, and it was always a shame that it wasn't practical to play him from that position.
He lacks the dive range, and has to give up his burst to dive. He doesn't have an easy to hit instant slow. He may not be quite as bursty upon first impressions, but not much reduced. If there's one thing he can't do quite as well now, is gap close for max damage. He has to find a way to close the distance before he can do max damage. This is easier with the tactics of his E, but it does require more effort, positioning, and planning than before.
I'm liking the synergy with the new assassin items and masteries. Speed, armor pen, and more single burst damage. Plus the utility of a spellshield is welcome. The out of combat movement speed helps offset his weakened gapcloser and slow.
This actually renews my interest to play talon more, because I was getting tired of being stuck mid when I always wanted to jungle him.
