Why is this ok?

That no matter how far beind trynd is, he can just mindlessly push with ult and if you don't have Hard CC he can just chunk your turrets with ult late game, which makes late game a game of babysitting the lane trynd is pushing pratically. The only reason they won is trynd keep just suicide pushing turrets. One of the only things I could think to stop the mindless push is to make him do no structure damage while ulting, but I have a feeling people don't wanna do that. Edit: Trynd was 3/11 by the end of the game mostly from killing the adc

The big failure of split pushing which is easy to punish is... sure he is split pushing, but the rest of the map is 4v5, and if your team cannot win a 4v5 (being the team with 5) then I'm not sure how to help. If you ace their side, 3 people (assuming you lose 2 in the 4v5) should get way more objectives than a single split pusher.

they had a fed graves and veigar with an okay alistar and a subpar orianna, it was mostly just veigar stunning them and both him and graves then bursting people down. our team, pyke, lee sin, lucian, and a newbie zed.

That only works against bad siege comps. 4v5 can still stall enough at turrets to the point where an AP trynda will take turrets much faster.
