Why I will always hate Lee.
Can never contest buffs when he cheese invades at lvl 2 because he will simply just kill you and by the time your team comes to help you he will wardjump away over a wall. Simple as that.

He's the best monster-stealer in the game. Most other junglers can't dare to do a boss monster (baron/dragon) while he's alive. His ability to jump over the wall and steal is just too good.
Though, personally, the reason I will always hate him is because he has too many disengage tools, making him really low-risk. Not only does he have his engage skill, but at any point he can drop a ward and dash to it, and if if you're still following him he can just kick you away with an instant point-and-click ability that has no counterplay.

Yeah, this aspect of Lee is very frustrating, I agree with that.
Ward or start at the big buff and get it first so he can't steal it.

Even if I do ward and catch him the act, what can I do? I can't straight up duel him because he's the pantheon of the jungle at those levels, I can't even contest the smite because it's far to high a risk and between his Q execute and smite he will get it anyway and probably just kill me afterwords with my own buff, team will never be fast enough to entirely react outside of competitive play so what do you do? You let him take it or fight him and die.
Thank God Riot has made all camps give equal exp tho, so it's not really that bad having a buff stolen, but it's a sour sensation I get on my tounge everytime he invades and takes my shit like he owns it. Nonetheless I like to play lategame scaling figher junglers, so I generally take my revenge afterwards. ;)

Except no Lee Sin should be wrecking you if he focuses on stealing your camp. If he is invading he is taking both his damage abilities and no mobility. If he if focusing the camp he is using his Q on the camp and that is 75% of his damage at level 2. He's really easy to shut down at level 2 if you ward properly.
In fact Lee Sin is in need of buffs to make up for the fact the standard of early game has gone up. He no longer has his strong early game, it's just average. Lee Sin is doing poorly until around level 4 and spiking at 6 then falling off at around 13. He has a very small window right now to actually be good and hence needs buffs to shift him one way or the other. He was always a monster early game to make up for his abysmal late game (except when he gets perfect ults). But now he is only kind of average early game thanks to Keystones.
Also you always want to be above half hp period. If you are under you are taking increased damage from masteries. So saying "But I shouldn't have to pot" is the reason you die to Lee. I honestly have more problems with a Nidalee invade at level 2 over Lee because she has more damage from further away.

Lee Sin needs buffs? You must be fucking joking. Lee Sin if anyone has risen at the front of early game damage. His ganks are far more lethal than they've ever been due to stack damage meta. Lee Sin has never been about snowballing himself because of the way his kit works, Lee Sin has always been about snowballing his team, which he will probably always be the best champion at doing.
I always laugh at the Lee's who hog all kills then proceed then fail epicly as his team starts falling behind because he's being too greedy and unwilling to help spread the gold, those Lee's are generally the easiest to beat because at some point in the game, I will be able to straight up beat his ass. It's the Lee Sins with excellent teamwork sense I fear, becasue instead of feeding themselves, they make their team unstoppable.

Ugh, I'd rather not ;)
The level two invade is a great classic doable by every single champion in the game and the counterplay is stupidly easy. Keep your ward for late invades and use it around 1:25 or +, then just do your normal route and stall (stop the camp) if he comes. Kill the little ones of the buff to gain the exp if possible (it's a pretty nice amount). He can't outright do the buff all by himself else he'll be low and you kill him so both of you lose time and since he's supposed to have a presence earlygame and actually wastes time, he becomes useless.
If he is invading you at lvl 2, chances are he has Q and E, and will not get lvl 3 off killing you, so ward hoping away is not an option. If he kills you at lvl 2 with Q and W then chances are you weren't taking very good precautions and you arn't using health pots.

My experience is that Lee Sins that invade generally go Q-W instead Q-E, which makes them even more dangerous to fight as the sustain does more for his dueling power at those levels than the small burst and weak AS slow from E, he stills has his execute so if u fall bellow 50% ur practically dead. Also, even if he does go QE, he can still flash over the wall.
The slow for E is really nice when invading the extra dmg as well.. But thats just my preference ..

Indeed, I'm too pro for pots. ;) Even so, pots will do very little for u if you fall bellow a certain level of health.
