What if Summoner spells had upgradeable paths?

What if Summoner spells had an upgradeable paths or "Talent tree" to allow for more customization and flexibility? Im not sure if this would fix how stagnant summoner spell selection has become but I think it could at least spice it up.

summoner 7 Clarity: restores a % of missing mana to affected targets OR Circle of Healing: Heals a third allied target

summoner 21 Reflective : grants damage reflect OR Unbreakable: Barrier grants bonus Magic resist/armor while it persist

summoner 1 Tenacious:Grants slow Immunity for the next X seconds OR Protection:Grants significant damage reduction for the next X seconds

summoner 6 Apparition: allows movement through structures and player controlled Terrain OR Wraith: Movespeed from Ghost Increased when out of combat

summoner 14 Rage: temporary % increase to AP and AD after use OR Lingering: each attack against ignited target increases the duration slightly

summoner 12 Homeward Bound: Increased channel speed when Teleporting to allied structures OR Traveler: Teleporting to allied minions buffs minions for X seconds on arrival

summoner 3 Sunder: removes an % of targets armor and magic resist OR Debilitate: slow and cripple strength increased significantly

Those ideas are just spitballs but you get the idea. This way theres more  that goes on when choosing summoner spells or even when defaulting to specific ones. For example a Soraka running windspeakers might want the** Circle of Healing** while a mana starved Varus or Ezreal would want the **Clarity **version.

EDIT:the important part to judge here is just the IDEA of Talent paths for Summoner spells in general. Not the viability of the actual listed ideas.

I don't think adding new effects would do much but irritate people. I think there are sums that deserve some life, though.

Clarity and Barrier are who spells that are essentially worthless right now since neither have much of a use.

Barrier has some use, but usually running Exhaust ends up being more valuable unless you're up against someone who can kill you outside of range. Plus at the end of the day, Heal also gives you the movement speed buff, which can save your life.

Clarity is just a sad as hell summoner that I have literally never seen run outside of Bronze V except by trolls. And even then, most trolls run Smite. Unlike heal which can save your life in clutch plays, Clarity doesn't have the same impact. I mean, I suppose you could bait someone into fighting you by being oom and the moment they commit you pop Clarity and destroy them. But even then that's a hard argument to make since you could just as easily back and run TP or something, of Exhaust like before and just walk away from them if they engage on you.

Most decent players understand mana management anyway, so they usually don't let themselves go oom in situations enough to warrant Clarity. It would actually be more useful to run Smite on a mid laner than Clarity. Lol.

Duh, they think they're safe behind minions but then you smite that caster right as your skillshot goes through.

The LCS strats are just too good for these kids.
