I'm curious if Riot will adress Kindred problems after rework

ThePikol··4 votes·737 views

All Kindred mains struggle after rework. Kindred winrate dropped like 10%. If you go to Kindred subreddit page all you see is discussions how bad new Kindred is. There are a lot of problems with Kindred right now:

  • There is no jungle item for them now. You have to go Warrior, beacuse you need bosud AD for your skills to scale, but it slows their clear
  • If you go Botrk after Warrior you won't get crit items as soon which are now essential, but if you go Zeal item who dealy your power spike
  • Their E. It's now an execute, but it's their only form of CC. So you either start gank with E and miss execute or wait with it until enemy is low hp and give them opportunity to run away
  • They are supposed to shine in late. Well I still feel like other champ do that much, much better
  • They are one of the squishiest jungler in the game
  • Their early-mid is horrible

And what is Riot planning to do? Give us 2 armor and 3.5 AD UPDATE: Armor got reverted. 3 AD not 3.5. Guess it overbuffed Kindred on PBE...

"I'm surprised they haven't been hotfixed buffed. New/recently reworked champions have been hotfixed buffed for less than this. But hey at least they delivered on the powerful late game promise?" FeelsKindredMan

Their E is basically CC early and only works as execute in mid/late. Cus u don't have any crit anyway early on. Just use it to CC if u have to. Don't think about executing anyone. Forget it.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

I've landed the execute around 70% of the time I don't use it at the start like an idiot. I built IE as my only crit item. As my 6th item. It's not hard, you just need a team with CC, and you need to be smart.

when will you understand that new changes need getting used to and that the win rate dropped because of people who have no idea how she works playing her because they saw she got changed

SadKill2 votes

So thier win rate goes down after a significant change and so players have to adjust to the new power level throughout the game and other things.... What did you expect? Suddenly an increase in 10% on such a high skill cap champion? Riot is going to take their time to assess the changes in live unless there are major problems. Which there are none. The issues you present may exist and some should be looked at, but there are no Huge problems that need to be amended as Riot takes 1 or 2 patch cycles to let Kindred be to see how they work out.

Riot doesnt give af about Kindred. Theyve left her in the dumpster next to Kalista for over a year now and thats where she will stay.

They are too busy buffing tanks to care about ADCs that get left behind.

FurriesAreHot2 votes

To be fair, Kalista just wasn't made for this meta. Assassins thrive right now, and Kalista is meant as a tank kiter and rapid movement during long team fights.

"Hey guys, the list on PBE is a bit old. The changes we are going to go with for 7.12 are as follows:

Base Stats

  • Base Attack Damage :: Increased from 54 >>> 57

Dance of Arrows - Q

  • Bonus AD Ratio :: Increased from 0.65 >>> 0.75 (This one is not locked, still debating internally.)

Wolf's Frenzy - W

  • Wolf Dash Speed :: Increased from 1200 >>> 1400
  • Grace Period :: Wolf's Frenzy zone duration slightly increased when using long range cast to compensate for Wolf's travel time

Mounting Dread - E

  • Mana Cost :: Decreased from 70 at all ranks >>> 50 at all ranks"

This is a message by wav3break on the kindred sub.

I don't think it'll be enough considering it's pretty minor buffs, but I think it'll be a good start

ThePikol1 votes

Yeah, I included the armor and AD "buffs" on my post. The E buff is necessary, but I feel like their problem is lack of dmg in early and not mana issues

Riot is usually pretty good about following up on recently reworked champions. Keep calm homie.

Can confirm that her numbers are atrocious atm. Seems like all she needs is a few stacks and can kill. Almost worth abusing the shit out of.

Kindred is my favorite character, though I haven't played the rework yet. Just from reading up on it, my concerns are as follows:

  • Kindred's main form of damage, her current health shred, is gone.
  • Crit kindred appears to be the only viable build, when I mainly enjoyed tank buster kindred, going BORK, Runaans, Bloodrazor, etc.
  • Kindred's only reliable gap closing method is their E, but that was changed to an execute, so you lose out on killing potential in order to simply engage.
  • Why does a character built around kiting and rapid dashing need increased range over scaling damage? That seems backwards to me.

  • %current hp on AA are gone
  • Yes, Riot pushed Kindred to be yet another crit champ. On-hit, attack speed is very bad now
  • E is exactly like you said. Like someone suggested it had 0 dmg early so use it for slow and execute in late game only
  • Ask Riot ;)

"Kindred mains are almost literally the only people that play Kindred. Kindred isn't like say Graves or Kha'Zix which are played by many people as strong picks. If the Kindred mains aren't happy with the rework or performing well, then they probably should revert it." And we see mains are not happy and have hard time with new Kindred. BUT we know from experience (Malzahar) that Riot is unwilling to rewert changes and it takes a year at least to put a chmp back into playable state

FurriesAreHot1 votes

Small correction, they have shown they are willing to undo reworks. Kog'Maw's rework was reversed, and if the community shows strong hate for a change, they will likely correct it.

DeathBurst2 votes

It's not a question of hate from the community.

It's that Riot never make change for the sake of change. If they update a champion, it's because there is a specific issue and they have a specific goal in mind. So even when an update fails, they rarely revert it, because even if the goal was not reached, the issue is still there if you just revert to the previous state.

In the case of Kog'Maw, the rework was actually worse than the old state for the goal they tried to achieve, so yeah, in that case it made sense to revert the rework. But it was an exception, and it's not because the community hated it.

SadKill2 votes

They will certainly not rework it after 1 week considering how significant the changes were, they're going to give it time for people to adjust and get used to how Kindred plays now before they look at why they're struggling. In other words, they're wanting to change them to make them better based off what really is causing them to fall short in the game instead of just changing them because people don't like change and aren't willing to try learning new Kindred.

A few negative posts on the forums is not a majority of kindred mains. I am a kindred main and I love the new Kindred, sure she's a bit weak at the moment but they are testing things. Again a few posts is def not majority. this forum and the small amount of "kindred is not right" threads do not speak for me or all Kindred mains out there

ThePikol1 votes

As I stated in my post: I'm not looking here on Boards but at Kindred subreddit. Boards hate literally everything from Yasuo to Leona, while on subreddit only Kindred players speak.

DeathBurst1 votes

Just skip Warrior and go straight into BotRK. You can build Warrior later if you want to keep the Smite on players, or if you don't care about that, you can simply resell your naked Jungle Item and get a real ADC item instead.

so young so naive

ThePikol1 votes

No, actually I'm afraid it will overbuff Kindred and they will end up banned all the time

ThePikol1 votes

Nevr mind. Armor got reverted and AD they want to add is lower now

All Kindred mains struggle after rework

I don't main Kindred, but they were my second champion, and they're my main jg.

I have had no problems on them, barring unlearning old habits (such as leading with E). They honestly feel so much better than they did before the rework. They don't have as much curbstomping against people that don't clear their hunts, but they can actually function without them.

Early game is a tad bit weak, but that's universal for every marksman. Outside of lane, they do pretty well. Their mid sucks because they need to be bad at some point in the game.

Warrior is just fine on them. They currently do better with Warrior than they did with Bloodrazer (pre 6 hunts). The change to their Q boosts their clear speed enough to make up for it.

Their E has always been a bit of an execute (as it has always been Kindred's largest source of damage when the enemy isn't at 80% or more HP). They just added bonus damage onto it.

Crit is unnecessary on them. All my recent games as them, I've only bought IE as an afterthought. A more AD-oriented build works better.
