Soraka is 1-0-27 in two weeks of LCS play

0-0-14 last time TiP picked her, 1-0-13 today.

On one hand, this is a small sample size. On the other, it's like the shoutcasters were saying, Soraka is a very safe lane and a very safe champ who can just stand back and heal up the ADC. Thanks to her, TiP only gave up 4-5 kills across an entire match.

At what point do we need to ask if an AFK healer is great for the game?

Yes she's very gankable. However, that kind of requires you to depend on your jungler to gank and for him to be someone who can contribute to a fight. That doesn't always happen. As TiP vs C9 showed, you don't always get a good gank that works and when you do get something, Shen comes in and saves the ADC by blocking an arrow with his face.

Edit for game 2: she just went 0-3-20, so she finally died. Still in 3 games she's 1-3-47. Still too safe IMO.

Dude... They played terrible against the Soraka. I have level 5 master Soraka, I play Soraka ranked whenever I have to support, And I know that she has weakpoints these guys just didnt even tried to get.

When they could go for Soraka, they instead went for other champs. Thats stupid. Soraka dies fast, she has nearly no way to save herself, she immobile, she has no instant CC, she has only a weak selfheal, he does no damage and she deserves a whole class of squishyness just for herself. Kill Soraka, it takes barely any time. if you get her, shes done for. Just one gank from Elise, one stun on Soraka, it would have spelt death for her. People are just so used to ignore Supports...

Her heal has a medium range. To heal she always has to move into the danger zone.

For the love of god, DONT TOWER DIVE against a Soraka.

When the team with Soraka dives, screw the others, go for Soraka. She has to be in range to heal, which means you can get her. You damage her, she cant heal.

Again, Soraka is terrible squishy.

She does, however, shine when the enemy team is stupid and goes tunnelvision on one focus target without one turning to give Soraka a kick in the butt.

Not dying doesn't mean you're better than anything else, or that you were playing "afk".

She's not better than anything else, I agree. If she's playing back you kind of need to have a competent junlger who can successfully gank bot. It's that safe playing back playstyle is what I'm referring to as AFK healing. It's sort of like a power farmer with devourer who doesn't really do much direct PvP until 30 minutes in. Unlike other supports Soraka is very good at just staying back and healing up. Yes she can and does step up to Q, but that's a small window.

You'd think that Elise would be able to gank her. You'd think that Varus would be able to hit a 50 hp Soraka with his poke. Didn't happen. Yes you can focus Soraka and yes it works, however by focusing a healer, you aren't focusing the ADC who is killing you. You focus the ADC and Soraka stands back safely and heals him up.

But it wasn't that Elise couldn't gank her, it was that she didn't want to. She preferred to spend her time standing in bushes mid.

Focusing the healer isn't as dumb as it sounds. Think about it. What is the point of focusing Nami after she's blown her Tidal Wave, Aqua Prison and probably her other abilities on her ADC? There's no point, because she's already given her contribution and is largely dead weight now. Same with Sona - after Crescendo goes out she's used 90% of her team fight power, so ignore her, kill the ADC.

Soraka isn't the same, her contribution is delayed. She is the only support who NEEDS to stay alive to be useful because most of her power in team fights rests in continuous healing. If you kill a Soraka quickly it's always worth it because she has not done her job in supporting her team if she hasn't stayed alive, which is unlike almost every other support.

Focusing Soraka wins fights because she's the only support whose contribution is delayed. Soraka wins when you tunnel vision on her ADC if you don't have the means to kill them through her heals. Kill her quickly and the ADC will die very quickly after.

Elise never showed up bot to gank, she spent all her time mid and top. It's not Soraka's fault that C9 waited until Shen and Soraka both had their ults readily available to even look at their lane. C9 didn't take advantage of her weakness, that's why they lost.

The adc would have died if not for Soraka AND Shen. And saving lives is what she's designed to do.

There are SO many more champs that need looked at. Soraka is no where near as high a priority.

lol what soraka is probably the supports that needs the most buffs from riot she is one of my go to champions ranked since she is just so useful in a team with fighters who deal good damage can be tanky but still be able to use her heals soraka can die so easily and she needs to spend 10% of her health just to heal her adc.its so easy to pressure soraka as Thresh Leona or any other support with a lot of cc for that matter.
