Serrated Dirk is far too cheap

item 3134 :

  • 1100 gold
  • 25 AD
  • 10 Lethality
  • 20 Out of Combat MS

item 1038 :

  • 1300 gold
  • 40 AD

In my opinion, Dirk, as it is currently priced, is at least 200 gold too cheap for the boni it provides.

agreed, this point is true and can use a 100 gold increase

OoC MS is worth ~6.67 gold per, going by Boots of Mobility. Mind you this is a rather extreme scenario where you get 90 OoC MS from 600g.

This means 133.33 additional gold value.

Serrated Dirk is 112.12% gold efficient.

Also, you give a pretty mitigating example comparing it to BF Sword, since BF Sword itself is 107.7% gold efficient.

I don't think that deriving stat value from boots is the right way to go, as the inherent opportunity cost of going for a specific type of boots enables underpricing of stats rather easily.

However, its the most isolated value of OoC MS.

Every other item that includes it does so at little-to-no additional gold value mixed among other superfluous additions, gold-wise.

Also, Magic Pen's gold value is derived from Sorc Shoes.

I am so triggered by the boards preview: http://imgur.com/4VdDwTK

I want Brutalizer back! Take back all that useless lethality stuff, brutalizer is all I need!

Let's not forget that one jg item that can turn into one of those if you take 3 enemy jg camps, probably the most OP non-used item in the game.

ProfDrDeath1 votes

Yeah, that too - although its power is locked behind the necessity to kill three large enemy camps, with at least 1 minute between taking each camp. That means stacking that thing fully takes three trips...

Which ends up being at least 6 minutes exploring the enemy jungle.

Its never worth it. You're better off buying full items right away and forcing fights if you're far enough ahead that you can afford to do that.

Until the game's pacing slows WAY down, Poacher's Dirk will be a nonfactor.

If you nerf it, you end up hurting all the champs that should be using it because of other classes(adcs)

same with yoummus and cleaver

The same goes for the others tho, lethality is far too OP for it's price which has caused AD assassins, divers and skirmishers who build it to grow OP.

I just saw a Video today with a heca, he had warrior + ghostblade + dirk and he straight up either oneshot or took about 85-90% health from a ADC, a mage and a assassin with E-Q-AA and nothing else while being only 3 kills ahead.

The lethality powercurve starts too high and ends too high at it's current price range. It's not just ADC's abusing it, everyone who can are doing it.

ik Riot wants diversity, but assassins should be the only ones to get lethality, and it should be balanced around them.

That would only serve to put the state of the critbuilds into a spotlight x)

Current critbuilds take too long to scale up and games often end before it happens which is why ADC's are laughed at. Riot clearly don't feel like reworking it so for them to do what you suggest is....unlikely to say that least.

The only ADC's viewed as viable currently are the ones using lethality and caitlyn. Twitch has been struggling with the now stronger assassins who hit their powerspikes before him and put him down doing so.

Which means we have 4 lethality ADC's and 1 crit ADC currently viable.

Do tell me, what happens if lethality is changed to be viable to the AD assassins alone?

We go to Narnia

It'd be more balanced, probably. The triangle of assassins/tank/adc would be more defined, and you would have less of the assassins/juggernauts/adcs blending together.

We'd have 1 viable ADC left and a even larger need to rework either the ADC role as a whole or Crit itself :(
