It annoys me when we get into queue and NO ONE but me uses the intent pick feature.

And we get a trash-team comp.

I've stopped using it since that one time a guy banned my champion because I didn't want to give him jungle and he flammed me the whole game for it. Now I only use it after the banning phase.

Tyaldan2 votes

If i ever go back into ranked im not gonna use it cause everyone thinks im trolling. Shaco Teemo main life :<

High52 votes

Teemo support and jungle is a waste of time. I enjoyed my 3 bans when I got to be leader before.

Teemo in general is a waste of time. If you're not playing to win, why play? Hasn't been in the meta in years.

Knoyle3 votes

Teemo still has a place in team comps. Auto attack heavy are effected greatly by him simply because of his blind. On top of that, his shrooms are useful for setting up fights and picking off players while providing some vision. You can play any champion with the intent to win and succeed.

Mhihnj2 votes

Teemo is a good assassin though. But he is more late game oriented imo

Galio hasn't been meta for years. Still rocks a pretty strong win rate.

Singed hasn't been meta for years, still has a strong, unique playstyle (albeit boring in my opinion).

Yorrick is a thing. Kind of. Those three Yorrick mains are terrifying.

Anyone remember Jayce?

TotalJerk1 votes

It's legitimately common for guides about climbing to tell you to dodge if Shaco is picked on either team.

SrirachaLimes4 votes

Such occurrences are extremely rare for me. I have no available statistics, but in the case of myself and my friends, we've never encountered a person who is so toxic and angry that they'd do that.

One event like that happening shouldn't dissuade you from using the otherwise very useful feature.

One time is one time too many.

it's happened to me a few times

I WILL TROLL YOU2 votes

This , I couldn't agree more. People will ban your champ out of spite.

FastAsHeck2 votes

people like that are exactly why we can't have nice things

eastcoastblaze28 votes

Because everytime i do, someone bans my champ and says "its an honest mistake", then they get upset when i ban theirs. Like stfu you don't use the first ban in the game on singed

Akeydel3 votes

two wrongs blah blah blah but three rights something something left

Vistha Kai9 votes

Because it's misused.

Any time of the day you increase the chance of having your champion banned, simply because you used the pick intent feature.

TNHA Baritone5 votes

Assuming that your teammates will ban a champion that you want to pick (unless it's a frequently banned champion) shouldn't be the norm. Sadly it is

Vistha Kai2 votes

Sometimes I feel it's not even on purpose.

Just yesterday I had a situation where a guy banned my champion and when I realized it, two people were like "Who was your champion?" It's not like they were fucking with me as a premade, since one of them was **my own **premade.

stealthfox941 votes

And unfortunately that's why dodging exist.

Bobloser35556 votes

cause some people ban your champion so you cant play them, better not show

manbearswine4 votes

Let me guess, you intend to pick karma?

But on a more serious note, I will generally only use it when I have no intention to adapt for anything(like when I particularly feel like playing a certain champ) otherwise I won't pick anything as I intend to adapt to our own team and the enemy's.

DarkRitual2 votes

As a support, I have a much wider range of things I can fill in with. I can be a tank, a diver, a CC machine, Zone mage, healer, engage mage, etc. Although, this patch I have been pick-intent'ing Taliyah. She's SUPER fun, and does fairly well down in bot lane bullying people. Earlier today I kept making a Draven miss axes. In that same game I learned that her Q can't be stopped once started, as the enemy Thresh took a face full of ice shards while self-rooted from his hook. Fun stuff.

Spicy Rice3 votes

I don't use it because 90% of the time, I'm playing yasuo, and my team assumes I suck dick with my main. They then proceed to pick a team around me, rather than play champs they know, just because they do t want me to be "useless". To stop my team from neutering itself based on my pick, I don't use pick intent

Orangesilk3 votes

Wow, that's kinda entitled though.

Like, if someone looks at your Yasuo pick and goes "Ima go Malphite" they are actually trusting you to be good enough to carry with their help, it's not about you being unable to land whirwhinds, and more about womboing for free because they think youll do good.

In fact, if you have people SPECIFICALLY picking knockup champs for your Yasuo, and you still lose that game, you're the one neutering your team.

Spicy Rice1 votes

I'm not going to say that having knock ups doesn't make my life easier, but having malphites who ult 1 person because they don't play maphite ruin my day. And only reason I say they don't trust my yasuo, is because in most of my games, I'm flamed early on by my team for picking yasuo because as one of my teammates said "all yasuo's suck"

Fives555552 votes

or even better: they cry that I banned their champ and then proceed to lose the game with a retarded dicksucking pick

two main reasons i do not use it.

  1. Your teammates bans you out because they dont want you to play x champ

  2. If someone dodges, there is a high chance your previous teammate will be on the other team and ban you out.

FACE THE WlND1 votes

True

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

Reason why is your champion is more or less likely to be banned.im safe since I'm a support so everyone wants my champion on their team.but one of my Duo partners loves to play Sol but it seems my own teammates ban him on purpose

Swiftstrike41 votes

I use to not use it as often, because people would maybe see that I had a losing streak an ban my champ. Sometimes people would ask for my role and I would tell them I rather not switch and then they will ban my champ.

I started using it a bit more, but that's probably because I play ranked more often with one or two friends. I want our randoms to know what our comp will look like.

Pika Fox1 votes

I use it when i know what i want to play. Half the time i dont really know what i want to do.

BluePolarizer1 votes

no what are you talking about? Zed Yasuo Hecarim Lucian Zilean is an AMAZING team comp... for the enemy team if you fail to snowball.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

Well a bit of it can be summed up with people wanting to choose their pick according to enemy team, but other times people are AFK till they pick.

Jet Sett1 votes

It's even more annoying when you're afraid to talk to your team because they might be premades.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

I can't speak for others, but whenever I run with pre-mades i talk to my team

Spacesuit Spiff1 votes

What annoys me is how rarely i see all 5 hovering Bard. Best use of that feature.

Hemulen Magi1 votes

I don't use pick intent until after banning phase if at all, because there are too many brainless, raging, flavor-of-the-month suckers that somehow think banning my main will improve my performance. To be honest, I don't really care if you think a champion is underpowered. If we are getting match-made together, then we have similar MMR. If I am steadily climbing ranked playing Yorick and Zac support, and you feel the need to ban my picks because they're "unviable," "troll," or "garbage," meanwhile while you are stuck in silver, playing Zed/Ekko every damn game, then you are only insulting your own lack of skill.

High51 votes

Pick intent was a shitty feature. Riot should have kept team builder for the noobs.

Draft is about adapting to what the enemy is picking, not locking in champs before you see their picks. The entire system was busted from the beginning and only caters to the stupid and lazy who can't be bothered to learn the game.

Teemodanegro1 votes

Its probably the most backward and pointless phase of the new champ select.

Scenario 1: "here, show your team the shitty champion you're about to pick so they can ban them from you" Scenario 2: "Here, show your team the champion you want to play" ....summoner: "I dont care what comp we run, im playing teemo" Scenario 3: _"Here, put nothing in here so your team can't complain OR Ban what you're about to pick." _

Tell me, which seems the best choice to you?

ModAttysu The Poro1 votes

I one up you; you pick intent someone, and someone purposely picks your intent to be a dick.

Funnnn [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Supreme Senpai691 votes

If people stop banning my pick intent then sure I'll use it,

Drehirth1 votes

agreed

TotalJerk1 votes

I'm a Soraka main, so I don't even bother to declare a pick if I'm a late pick because in my elo it isn't uncommon for top, mid, and jungle to all decide that they wanna fucking pick low utility squishy carries. I don't take Soraka into those comps.

YoureSquiddingMe1 votes

It's better than before. At the beginning, pick intent made everyone decide what they wanted at the start. People did not change their pick regardless of comp, because they showed what they wanted to play, other people are supposed to pick around them, right? It made people selfish as shit, so other players started banning shitpicks, and now noone uses pick intent unless they want to let their team know "Hey, I'm picking Shaco, please pick around me and don't ban Shaco", in which instance it is working as intended in my opinion, letting their team know to ban that useless champion.

Dr Poro1 votes

And after you ban a champ they say "omfg i was going to play that champion you idiot why did you ban him!"

Auroramancer1 votes

It's almost like people go into a queue without a clear notion of who exactly they want to play...

HotChilly1 votes

About 20% of the time when I show my pick intent someone bans it just for the luls. Probably happened about three times in my first 15-20 games when the new system came out and I was using it. I have yet to have my champ banned while not showing my pick intent, so thats why I dont use it at least. Creates a good chance that i will have to play another champ, and I really only play league to play 1 champion which I fell in love with.

I appreciate what riot was thinking with the pick intent feature, its just a decent segment of the population get there jollys by ruining other people enjoyment, soooo yup!
