Ongoing Ahri Play Test Results (Link to PBE Thread)
Total Number of Games as Ahri: 9 Total Number of Games against Ahri in Lane: 1 Total Number of Games with Ahri as Ally: 2
Total: 12
Game 1: Ahri vs Ahri Notes:
- Q harass much more powerful now due to escape mechanism.
- Gank avoidance significantly improved.
- Damage noticeably lower but laning presence much higher.
- Challenger Ahri Skin: Fox-Fire seems to track targets significantly faster from cast time compared to live now. Missile speed also seems higher. Potential bug; must test on other skins as well. Tested with Popstar and Foxfire: same effect occurs.
- Cooldown Reduction extremely effective due to Q speed up mechanic.
- Sometimes effective to throw orb backwards to gain additional distance.
- Orb grants % based movement speed.
Game 2: Ahri vs Kog’Maw Notes:
- Ahri’s skillshot dodging potential is not significantly increased at early levels to due mana restrictions. Perhaps tear would be effective now?
- Q is not more likely to hit targets with longer range than Ahri, except for the Q on the way back, given that it hit once before.
- Running away with Q is extremely effective with mana regen.
- Ahri seems to be overbearing when winning as she may Q through the tower and then escape aggro quickly.
Game 3: Orianna vs Ahri Notes:
- Ahri may be susceptible to being out-stat’d, simply by virtue of tuning.
- Charm is an inefficient mana sink at early levels.
- Ahri trades autos well as she may run away by throwing Q
Game 4: Ahri vs Riven Notes:
- Movement speed buff is not enough to outrun Riven Q without boots.
- Due to mana restraints, E must still be treated as a certain kill ability as there is a significant damage difference at early levels.
- Interesting Question: Would Alacrity or Furor be more effective?
Game 5: Ahri vs Leblanc Notes:
- Furor does not have a large impact given the large Q speed boost and its similar cooldown with W. Will test Alacrity as it will benefit from percentage Q speed boost.
- Q speed up is very effective for dodging Leblanc E.
- CSing with Q while harassing has significantly improved, as well as healing with passive.
- W by itself does noticeably much more damage.
Overall Comments:
- Q speed up feels extremely good.
- Damage is noticeably lower, but harassment options, healing, and gank avoidance options have all expanded.
- W feels significantly more powerful thanks to damage increase.
- W tracking rate difference feels very good to use.
- Morellonomicon is potentially too powerful on Ahri due to spam.
- Rylai’s is unexpectedly less powerful than anticipated due to the available options from Q speed up.
- Ahri seems to be just as easy to zone out as before as long range mages since Q doesn’t actually improve range. Mages who target like Ryze may also be strong. Would like to play versus Xerath and Syndra.
Current Impression: Strong, potentially very strong, want to try alternative summoner spells, CDR is a must in the current state.
My set up: 21/0/9, 3 AP Quins, 9 Magi Pen Marks, 9 Health per level Seals, 9 MR Glyphes
Tested Item Build: Doran's Ring + 2 pots -> Sorcerer's Shoes + Morellonomicon -> Deathcap -> Rylai's/Void Staff/Hourglass
Please comment if you would like me to play test anything else Ahri relevant.
