Do you consider GP to be difficult or easy?

I've been playing him a lot lately, and all I seem to get anytime that I'm winning is that he's a "braindead" champ. Honestly, I find him fairly difficult and fun to play as. I'm considered high silver (didn't really play ranked this past season, but I played lots of norms and get matched up against low gold/high silvers) What's your opinion from YOUR OWN experience of PLAYING HIM?

GP main here.

GP has been made into a far easier champion to play due to Kleptomancy and to a degree even Grasp. All of these runes mitigate the many weaknesses he had and it used to require much more skill to play him as he had a lot of difficult match ups. A lot of his kit was meant to bide time until he was strong and had items. This can be done rather easily because his lane phase isn't as unforgiving. He's the same champion he's always been, his weaknesses are just being covered by how easily he can use the new rune system.

Gangplank is quite easy to play. Setting up 1 barrel, AA it once, then place the second barrel and AA (or Q) the first one for the poke or all-in.

What actually makes mastering him hard is the barrel combos. Doing the doublebarrel combo is insane in a competitive environment as you have to be fast with your fingers while positioning yourself into a position you can both engage and disengage. The 3-Barrel combo is easier but still requires you to set up your barrels so you actually are able to hit your opponent.

As with a lot of champions, Gangplank is fairly easy to play, but REALLY hard to master.

I gave up learning him simply because I suck at barrel placement. I like watching high elo gps though. It's amazing.

In my opinion GP and TF are the hardest champs in the game to play. The thing that makes GP difficult is the recharge on barrel charges. If you're in a mid game teamfight and your chain gets busted up you generally won't get a second one off.

GP is the hardest champion of LoL.

I think he's a lot easier to win lane with due to Grasp and Klepto than he has been in the past. I still firmly believe he has a challenging mid / lategame though.

You need good positioning, good barrel positioning, knowledge of enemy vision so you can chain onto them, and weaving in passive procs. You're ALWAYS doing something, which a lot of champions don't have to micro.

in lane, all you have to do is play safe, so his laning is pretty easy. It's also easier thanks to klepto and grasp, both making his early laning phase survivable.

Come mid to late game, you need to actually know how to play him to actually contribute, your Q poke isnt really relevent anymore since it becomes just a strong AA on CD, so you need to learn barrel combos, be aware for when to ulti around the map, tripple barrel combo, ghost barrel combo, play around enemies hitting your barrels. I'd say he's pretty hard, he's my 3rd most played champ and if i take a break from playing him, it takes me quite a few games to slip back into his barrel combos reliably.

It's not a matter of difficulty in playing him, because despite what the poll says he's extremely easy to play. The matter is of the amount of effort it requires to perform well with him, and man does it take a lot.
