Yorick is now one of the WORST top laners in the game

Sitting at Tier 5 with a whopping 45% winrate. I'm really sad about what Riot did to this champ, I really enjoyed playing him but he's unplayable after the ghoul nerfs. He loses lane to nearly every top laner early AND gets outscaled by them. His dueling potential is absolute trash now. The ghoul nerfs were completely unjustified and his ghouls are almost useless until later levels now.

I think Riot should revert the nerfs and if they want to nerf him in low elo they should make the ghouls larger instead of messing with his numbers. He was a great, yet niche champion before he got gutted. But now many people have given him up entirely. I guess this is what happens when your champ isn't popular enough to deserve better treatment.

Agreed, people play yorick for the minions, not the boring auto reset Q...

I and many other yorick's mains would gladly trade damage off his Q for ghoul buffs.

The ghouls of the original Yorick were the most cancerous part of him because their power and the sheer number of them prevented enemy champions from engaging with Yorick himself because the minions were so much of a danger to them. The only trade-off that would feasibly allow for him to have more emphasis and damage in his ghouls without making him oppressive was if he was incredibly squishy - but then, that makes him a variant of Heimerdinger or Zyra, and not a unique juggernaut like his now.

So you may want more power in the ghouls, but that's a slippery slope towards making him absolute cancer again.

I'm biased because I play him but I think after that post-steraks nerf and pre-ghouls nerf Yorick was his healthiest state. He was a niche, tier 2 top laner that had the oppurunity to win lane in many matchups if he landed his E's and was always setting up ghouls. Now he's just a Q bot the rest of his basic abilities are very weak and his Q isn't even one of the strong auto resets in the game. He loses to nearly everything and gets outscaled now.

Yorick is too OP! Nerf him into the ground until nobody plays him anymore! Ok, nobody plays him anymore, now what? Let him sit in timeout for a few years before we even think about buffing him again. Ok, I think we should rework Yorick. Yorick is actually viable! How can this be!? Let's nerf him into the ground again!!! Ok, now what? Let's rework Irelia and Akali and make them even stronger!!!! Yes, what a brilliant idea! That's why they pay us the big bucks, boys hehehe.

They need to buff his w and e.... hes literally just a walking auto attacker that spawns minions that die instantly...

Nobody likes playing with / against a Yorick that has a strong q, buff his ghouls / make him more reliant on his skillshot.

An idea I got from another Yorick main was to give his wall a grounded effect so people can't dash out of it they autually have to auto the wall to break out. "Nobody likes playing against him" I'm sure people would prefer playing against pre-nerf Yorick over Darius, Fiora, a good riven those champs are much more obnoxious. He was reliant on setting up his graves and hitting his skillshot but now there is nearly 0 payoff. Old yorick was reliant on his skillshot because his ghouls did damage back than.

I think people prefer playing against Riven, Fiora and even Darius compared to pre-nerf Yorick, those 3 have some actual mechanics that give them counterplay and require a minium of skill to use, and when you lose or win but don't have tiamat against those 3 your towers might survive, against Yorick you can destroy him 30 times and he will just overpower you once he gets his Trinity and Sterak and will turn every tower into ashes.

Yorick is an uninteractive Q and autoattack spam juggernaut with minions that are there to look pretty and smile at the camera.

LOL at fiora and riven. Both have less counterplay than yorick. Fiora wins everything ever because "tHe DuElIsT" And don't get me started on Riven, her entire counterplay is one of two things:

Hope the player sucks and fucks up
Facetank and beat her.

It's true the champion is fucking aweful in his current form. He should be a champion that has the same god like early-game as Darius, but here we are.

His trading requires at lot of set up and patience and it feels like there is no pay off currently for being so gated behind certain mechanics.

It is weird. His winrate dropped only when 8.21 hit. But Yorick had no direct or indirect changes this patch, nor any bugfixes...

Is yorick really that bad? his ghouls can tank some abilities (ex. darius Q) and you have to take them down one by one with auto, also he has great split push due to his ult and ghouls cuz he doesn't need minions, he has good poke in lane which gets ghouls to attack enemys and good synergy with ganks. But he falls off over time. Riot needs to fix his walls though, its really buggy. I really don't know why his winrates are falling, maybe he does need some adjustments, maybe not

So weird analysis. There is one thing that so far has changed this patch. That Irelia nerf. Ooooh yes, the -5MS that's going to completely ruin her and make her win rate and play rate drop to normal levels.

We here's the thing, since this patch her middle play rate has actually gone down (she can't get to her enemies any more, poor so and so) but her Top play rate has gone up (she's now #4).

Guess who has a disproportionately high win rate vs Yorick in Top?

...better nerf Irelia (properly).

Yeah Irelia and Jax are his hardest counters and both are extremely popular and overtuned which puts him in an evenworse state

I don't know, I've been jamming games on him this week, went even against a fuckin Aatrox.

He has tools, but he has to be more conservative early, and then splitpush once his opponent leaves lane.

His niche was kind of turned from 'minion master', to 'split push god' and he kind of is that. I am a little sad that the flavor of ghouls is kind of lost, but at the same time, the minions are what make his push so good. They take tower shots, they hit towers, and with the maiden your push is SO FAST. My team got herald one game and we pushed to inhib at minute 15. It was gross.

I honestly don't think he's in that bad of a spot.
