1 Game rage can get you a permanent ban WTF?

LegendmakerGX··5 votes·5,112 views

I understand the system needs to be fix but you are seriously going to perma ban players for toxic? Perma ban their chat for half a year not perma ban them.

I hate toxic players too and people who even threat people but really? Just take away the chat system then BOOM they can't be toxic or type, they will communicate by ping ( Add more ping signs like ward/Ult ready or somthing).

Toxic players are a problem it is true but you can just perma mute then for half the year then un-perma mute them because everyone has their moment all the time.

How you think toxic deserve a perma ban is beyond me since everyone gets mad and don't lie in comment that you don't get mad because of a feeder or a purpose feeder/rage quit/afk.

If you want to perma ban then perma ban the intentional feeders or the people who rage quit that ruin the game for other players. People who intentionally feed deserve a perma ban not people who rage that you can just perma mute their chat.

Best part is that you let a COMPUTER SYSTEM deal with the perma ban, you got to be kidding me Riot are you to busy to deal with the perma ban yourself rather then let a computer do it? O YAAAAA I remember now, you guys are busy improving the game plays like making more skin to charge us or my favourite CHROME SKINS to charge for SKINS PLAYERS ALREADY >>PAY'D FOR<<.

Also you can get permanent ban over 1 game is amazing. I'd rather have the old tribunal then this joke of a system which can ban me or others over 1 GAME.

UPVOTE THIS SO OTHER PLAYERS KNOW ABOUT THE NEW TRIBUNAL.

Note that the 1 game permaban is only for EXTREME behaviour like a 30 minute game full of homophobic, racial, sexial slurs targetting one or multiple people. I also remember a red post were was mentioned that every 14-day/permaban is reviewed by hand.

There is no reason to flame, ever.

darkdill3 votes

Sure there is: you're getting harassed first.

Snowfox5 votes

/mute is a great tool of power. Tell them you sexually identify as a Teemo.

You don't need to retaliate, you want to retaliate.

darkdill4 votes

And what's so wrong with following the human instinct of retaliation? Even BRAUM encourages it!

"If something kicks you, kick it back!"

It helps neither yourself or the offending party.

Aqatix: "You don't need to retaliate, you want to retaliate."

Yes, so with your logic, why does Riot care and retaliate? They don't need to ban, they WANT to ban.

They can just ignore the ragers and take the same advice you're giving. Why do they get so upset about it that they have to ban someone? Think about it....

Snowfox3 votes

Riot created league of legends. Riot decided they didn't want raging, flaming, hate-speech, racism, sexism etc in their game as they believe it gives a better experience. Riot enforce ban people to uphold the rule they created. When you created your account you agreed to their rules and the consequences for breaking them. Each time they update, you re-agree to the ToS. You are free to decline the ToS an not continue playing the game. Your comment and reasoning are moronic.

Yes Braum is a delightful character, but he is also a fictional one and his quotes are to add to his personality and humor as a character, not to be used as life advice. If you are looking for someone quote on the proper way to act then Ghandi or Mlk would be better options and you know what they would say in response to that. I guess technically speaking they were very much retaliating, but you know what I mean when I bring them up.

Of course they also both got shot, but people can't kill you in real life over the internet and not returning insults with insults back on people who are flaming isn't going to make anyone literally want to murder you.

I have said some pretty fucked up stuff, but I rarely ever do it. Never been banned or even had a chat restrict, so I'm either lucky or people have said some messed up stuff consistently. You must have been banned a few times already, and yes people who are completely toxic and refuse to change deserve more then just a chat ban.

Extricate5 votes

Here's a thought, don't be a raging ignorant prick and you won't get banned?

If it's impossible for you to not swear, use racial slurs, make degrading remarks and be an all around dickhead... I'm glad they banned you. It's not hard to be nice.

LegendmakerGX1 votes

I AM NOT BANNED YOU IDIOT. Yes I used the word IDIOT for you because did you even read the topic? or just think I was banned because of the tittle of the topic? When you read it then get back to me bud.

Random Task5 votes

You don't have to be banned to worry about this like you're doing. Clearly you do use offensive/bad behavior and it's the reason behind starting this thread.

LegendmakerGX1 votes

Idk when you let a computer do the banning then ya it's going to be a problem if you're smart.

Random Task4 votes

What?

Krigjer4 votes

The system never automatically permabans. Those cases escalate to a real human that reviews their behavior.

LegendmakerGX2 votes

noooo..... It's actually a computer. read the Q/A Riot says it's going to be a computer who perma bans. It also said it will perma ban in 15min reread it again.

Link me where it says this. Because I've read otherwise everywhere.

Says perma ban people within 15 of game end. Remember 1 game can get you perma ban so in that game you can get perma ban.

It's still going to take a LOT of reports in a small amount of time to get that permaban. It's not like it's going to come out of nowhere.

Sona Ping3 votes

It's not that hard to get 5 or more reports at once.

You queue into a normals alone, you get a team with 3-4 premades, enemy gets first blood on you and suddenly you're the scapegoat for the entire match, getting insulted the whole time while you try to type back. They go to allchat telling the enemy to report you for this and that. Boom! Half dozen reports in one game.

Krigjer3 votes

I've had this happen to me. You know what happened? I got a 5 game chat restriction because it was my first warning.

You have to get a LOT of reports in a very small amount of games to get a permaban. A LOT.

Sona Ping1 votes

"You have to get a LOT of reports in a very small amount of games to get a permaban. A LOT." I hope so to. Hope.

But really I know what this is; I can read PR. It's a big announcement to try gain goodwill but what it actually is: "We have put in this program that will scan reports and issues bans if it finds words that match this other list of words we put together (banned words TBA). This addresses the goal about player behavior we had in those work focus meetings on Mondays".

Random Task3 votes

If you read everything - not just what you want to read - they have also made the system to actually determine between a real and fake report.

Sona Ping1 votes

If you read everything that was posted on the boards, you know that Riot has acknowledged there are cases where automatic bans have been made in error for detecting scripting.

Random Task2 votes

True, but don't act like that's all it does. And what's been implemented also is a newer version of what was already in place.

Sona Ping1 votes

It's not an issue of "acting like that's all it does" (whichever "it" you were referring to, it's unclear).

The issue is that it has the capacity for error, and large consequences on top of that, and you are taking it for granted that there won't be any. Presumably, only because Riot said it works for determining the legitimacy of reports. That's a problem.

Further, the reality of the situation is that we all _already know _ such unfounded faith in Riot's player behavior systems is not warranted. As I said, it's documented, widely known and even admitted by Riot that their systems screw up. You should not believe it won't have errors just because they said they did things to detect errors, there is an entire board, Report a Bug, that demonstrates you shouldn't.

Random Task1 votes

The only "it" there is in this conversation; which is the new system. You miss the point of what I've said. I'm not saying it's perfect; I'm saying don't act like all it does is ban people and misjudge.

Of course there will be mistakes, that's why this new system is being tested on a couple servers first.

I'd rather have faith until something fails, than always cling to the negatives.

Onimus Terlain4 votes

They should not have to remove in game chat just so ragers can't rage.

They'll just ban the ragers.

I think it's a much easier system that makes the game better.

As opposed to your solution, which would downgrade the game even more than it already is.

As the game stands now, we already don't have voice chat because Riot thinks (or, rightfully, knows) that people will infest it with rage. Asking them to remove the in game text chat is even worse than that.

You need more communication than just pings. That would make this game borderline unplayable.

AtreiNero3 votes

Riot doesn't care about how the system works because they have let it get this bad. They could have done something earlier but the instead let the problem grow and grow and now no one cares anymore. They let automated systems do everything because they are too busy doing something else like not fixing broken champs, not rewoking on reworks, just more ways to get money out of us. They only care about the Challenger and Pro players and not about anyone else.

Random Task1 votes

Proof?

Nameless Voice3 votes

If players are extremely toxic in chat and won't reform, then just muting their ability to chat will most likely just result in them being toxic in other ways (ping spamming, surrender spamming, leaving, trolling.)

Right now, toxic players have no fear of punishment. They are so toxic because they think they can get away with it. We need visible and harsh punishments for the worst players, so that other players will think twice before being extremely toxic.

Meep Man3 votes

In not lying when I say I have never spouted out death threats, curse words, and various other threats in a match. Its stupid and there is no reason to. Its a waste of time abd energy because NOTHING is accomplished. I might say a few things IRL, but never in-game. If you shout out abusive threats or anything of the sorts, then you deserve to be banned. If you are banned then you deserve to be and thats that. I dont care if you payed money or "didn't mean to." No. You are banned and should remain so.

Colgate Gator3 votes

Maybe this way you people can learn to behave like civil human beings.

djjomon3 votes

Stopped reading at "perma ban chat for half a year."

And if someone honestly deserves a perma ban, they'll get it. It only takes one game to prove that. If you're threatening someone's life or family in one single game...

Quantum Guy2 votes

Hard to feel the same when your post seems so rude.

LegendmakerGX1 votes

Well it's true it took them 1 year to make this new tribunal. It takes them 3/4 month for a new champion. They can't even fix the azir/victor bugs and nidalee invisible spear yet.But they can totally release skin non stop and make us pay to change the colour of the skin we pay'd for.

Random Task3 votes

I wonder what division in riot has the easiest time putting out content....you know there are different divisions? Ones who deal with art, with skin/model design, or UI, etc?

It took them like 2 years to do the sion rework (which is a new champion). Depending on the champion it might be 3/4 months but realistically closer to 8. News flash, skins are loosely released on a set schedule, because they're one of the only things they can control the outcome of. Not all bug fixes are easy and not all fixes will be implemented once they are fixed. Some fixes are released with the next patch because they're bigger/more complex than other fixes.

Legendary Silver2 votes

So I've seen some of the report cards posted to reddit... and man some of them are tame.

DJCLAUD2 votes

The same reason here! I got perma this morning for 1 chatlog WTF!!! My account is old over 5 years WTF RIOTS! Why i must be punished if i got a team full of trolls and solo pro gamers!!!

Pisdov1 votes

what is this new system?

LegendmakerGX3 votes

To make it short, so a computer will be suspending us / PERMA BAN now rather then Riot for toxic. Best part is you can now be Perma ban over 1 SINGLE MATCH.

Angry Monster1 votes

no proof that it will be for a single match. Your taking the quote of context. Riot has said time and time again that permabans are for the WORSE offenders. When they say worse they mean like top .1%

Random Task2 votes

Actually there's been a machine doing this for like a year and a half. Right now, what's being implemented is a better version of that, that will give you proof of your transgressions. And it won't be giving 1 game perma bans for all bad behavior. The only reason you'd even complain about it is if you know you say bad shit all of the time. It'll only permaban the worst of the worst; not "having a bad day" behavior.

Troy2426211 votes

League wants to be recognized as a legitimate sport in the s-sports world? That's great.

Even the MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA don't ban you outright from competition from one outburst. They might fine the ever-living Hell out of you, eject you and even suspend you, but they aren't going to life-time ban you for it.

Random Task2 votes

The MLB, NFL, NHL, and NBA are professional leagues. You can't compare casual players to the pros. LPL, NALCS, EULCS, etc. deal with their pro players close to/better than the other pro leagues.

Troy2426211 votes

Highschool sports aren't professional leagues. You still won't be barred from competition for life due to one incident.

LoL pros aren't banned for one incident, either, and the LCS is a professional league. They're suspended for their infractions. Kind of like temporary bans to the average person.

Random Task2 votes

But we're talking about an entire public community; not teams or pro leagues. It's not a "banned or not banned" system - still - so, I don't understand mistakes being made to look as though they will always happen.

Jrud2 votes

Being "permabanned" doesn't permanently eject you from the "sport". You can just make another account if you really love it that much and will be back to playing ranked in a couple of months. It's annoying to lose your history and champs and runes and maybe even RP purchases but hey, that's what you get for being a toxic.
