Heimerdinger's turrets don't upgrade theirself
Basically, when you max your Q and you have already placed the turrets, they don't get the extra hp, so you must replace them all until you reach lvl 5 with the skill. It's a bit dumb, don't you think?

That's been a thing from the start and it has been meta for a while. Do I think it's dumb? Well... No, but I do think it's just a part of playing the Donger. You have a bunch of little turrets that you can set down and hold a line. If you want them to be strong, you gotta play your tower defense game right and run around to upgrade them yourself. And it isn't like they last forever and they're super hard to build.
exactly. Well said.
Tbh I don't play the donger a lot. Played him in season 4, and I think it's a bit unfair, but as you said, it's part of his kit and balance.
It's actually an important part of his balance imo. I'm a low gold heimer main and early on with cdr it can take a moment to place three turrets at the new level. This is particularly true if opponents focus on killing your new turrets so you can't replace the old ones. The damage goes up slightly with levels too, so this is an important balance to heimer' early laning because it keeps his damage a little lower if the enemy is good.
maybe, But I recall other exploits that are as good as they are bad.
For starters, You can increase your turrets power by gulping an elixer. (or perhaps Dragon or baron buff) Place your turrets, and those turrets will continue to have the increased damage even after those buffs expire.
