Who is the best river support champion?

Who is the best champion to rush mobi boots and basically be a second jungler for the mid lane?

Someone who can help shove botlane, see that mid needs a gank, roam up to mid, do your gank, then run back down bot.

Or the jungler is invading and the support wants to roam up to support.

My thoughts were initially Pyke. With Waterwalking and his W, but honestly I was kind of thinking that Nautilus would be better with their CC, but then I was also thinking of Blitzcrank, or Leona.

Anyone have any ideas who could play that role the best?

I do a lot of river roaming when I play Thresh. Really any support can do it, even healers are great for a quick top-off to keep your mid in lane.

Pyke is the best one second to him would be Thresh. Those are the best two for roaming I think. Pyke can go in invisible but Thresh can go in and lantern the Jungler in with him.

Alistar roams are brutal. Blitzcrank, Pyke, Thresh, and Bard are also great.

Oh, my bad. For some reason I was thinking you were referring to a mid laner that can roam.

Theoretically Taliyah COULD support, .. but there are way better options.

Nami if the mid laner on your team is an assassin.

Alistar is pretty solid roamer and high cc champ.

Bard under rated roaming supp. insanely good if u can play him well.

Zilean. You're going to think I'm wrong. But you're living in the past, and he's way ahead of you. If you're not a dope and you max his E first, a mid laner that is over extended is dead to rights.

Bard was literally designed to do this.

But with damage so high now, he can basically take half an ADC's HP at level 1 with Q stun + chime proc + electrocute. So now it's better for him to just be a lane bully. Kinda sad, really.
