Does Riot honestly think Graves is in a balanced state right now?

Feel free to explain to me when and where he is weak throughout the course of the game but he feels pretty damn oppressive at all points and synergizes stupidly well with the damage reduction on red smite and phantom dancer. Those damage reductions plus his ability to spam E later in the game make him very tanky while dealing incredible amounts of sustained damage/burst damage. He can teamfight very well with his abilities being somewhat ranged and AoE, he can splitpush because of his very very good waveclear with just his Q, and he can outduel almost anyone 1v1. Not to mention he has a ridiculously fast/safe jungle clear. Maybe it's just me thinking all this????

Well, they think he's balanced because... well... he is? Let's see. Let's point out his weaknesses, yeah? Since everyone is so prone to pointing out his strengths.

  • Low autoattack range. the only time it's worth it is when he's right next to his target and gets big bonus damage.
  • His auto attacks also cannot go through units, making it possible to shield your carries from his damage BY LITERALLY MOVING IN BETWEEN THEM
  • Shitty reload mechanic that lowers his DPS noticeably
  • His defense steroid that everyone whines about takes an excessive amount of time to ramp up. 30 MR and armor is surely nothing to scoff at, but then his mobility spell is down and he has to wait for a while again to use it again. if you can't kill him in the time it takes for him to use his e 4 TIMES, you deserve to lose the fight
  • Almost no CC at all. his one form is a small aoe that slows by a small amount and reduces vision. Literally nothing to stop anyone who jumps on him except his damage.
  • his q and r (main damaging spells) are both skillshots that are easily avoided, especially his q.

So, of course his damage and mobility are going to be pretty decent at all points of the game. they have to be, or he would be utter trash.

another fun part: his winrate!

according to champion.gg, His winrates in both top and jungle in plat+ ranked are ~48.6%.

  • 38/50 for jungle
  • 46/56 for top

Stop F!@#ing circlejerking this champ around. He is balanced.

That is a great many champions these days. The top tier champions have almost no actual weaknesses at any point of the game. Sure they may be SLIGHTLY weaker early than some, and by slightly, i mean slightly, but their late game is monstrous. Champions like viktor, azir, and vladimir who have a semi decent early destroy late. When i mean semi decent, it's because they can keep the waves cleared and pushed from relative safety without putting themselves in serious harms way. Thereby ensuring they can farm till late and not fall that behind. Riot doesn't actually know how to balance the game properly. A champion should not have almost every tool in the game at their disposal.
