Why is Sol being nerfed tho?

I dont even play sol. I dont really want to play sol, and havent bought him despite having over 70k IP. Just from playing against him, I can see that he is a totally balanced champion. I dont even get why he is being nerfed. He seems perfectly balanced to me.

From the brief stats I saw, he has a little over 50% win rate. The logic states that any new champion released should have slightly below 50% win rate, since people are still learning how to play them. If any champion is over 50% win rate in their first week, chances are, they're a little overpowered.

He's a team-fighter monster who only needs a tiny bit of support to be nearly unkillable.

He's also a brutal laner against everything that's not an assassin with a targeted gap closer.

Tbh he is so hard countered by gap closers and mobility its pretty silly.

From what I've heard (haven't seen) he is doing exceptionally well in pro/high elo play

I'm surprised to. Usually riot waits 3 weeks- a month before nerfing a new champ that hard.

Because of his passive, Sol is rewarded for basically doing nothing I don't know about Riot, but from my own personally view point, any champion, item, or mechanic that rewards a player for doing nothing is not very healthy. Sol doesn't have a skill cap besides knowing when to "go in" and when to "back off" And that quantifies his entire kit and play style.
