it really is your teams fault you aren't climbing and here's an actual solid argument why

i know this will get down voted and people will argue about "if you're good enough you'll climb" blah blah blah. But it is absolutely your teams fault you aren't climbing (and maybe YOU'RE the teammate causing someone else to not climb) League is an E-Sport, so i'm gonna take a look at it, the way i would ANY sport.

in a perfect world, you are matched with and against people of a similar skill level as you. but unfortunately that isn't the case. in low elo you're matched with the entire buffet of: First time rank players, Boosters trolling to keep their accounts low so they can continue to duo with low elo players and boost them, regular trolls, players with low spec computers, generally unskilled people, etc. in high(er) elo you're matched with: regular trolls, boosted players who don't belong in that elo.

now, in football, it doesn't matter how good you are, if even ONE teammate starts blocking your path, or handing the ball off to the opposing team, or generally just isn't playing, you'll lose. NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE. same with ANY OTHER sport. League is no exception. even if you're way ahead, and winning lane, and roaming well, and winning team fights (when they happen) if your team is running in without you, dying and feeding the enemy team, you're gonna have a much harder time winning, doesn't matter how good you are.

and granted a diamond level player might be able to get on a smurf account and climb out of low elo, but they have had time to practice against other diamond level players.. similar to a pro football player could easily beat a bunch of elementary school kids at the game.. if you're stuck in low elo, you can't practice against higher skilled players and get better and climb. so you won't get to the point where you can do that.. like if an elementary school kid never practices at football again in his life, he won't get any better. but that diamond level player still won't be able to be 5 places at once, and is gonna lose due to trolls and stuff too..

truth is, if you're trying to climb, but feel stuck because your team is feeding and holding you back. they probably are. just like any other sport. in a regular sport, if you're doing good, and your team is sucking, the coach will keep you and cut the ones who aren't, and you'll get to move forward and they won't.. sadly LP Gain/Loss is just measured by if your overall team wins, when it should look at individual performance win or lose.. because you can do well, but your team suck..

all in all, if you're doing well, it is your teams fault you aren't climbing. period.

Many people feel the same way, which is why they're updating the ranked system. They're changing it so that players (hopefully) won't be hard stuck anymore, and will actually make progress when grinding it out. Not to mention they're looking into changing the way match making works so that you get paired with people who are more on your skill level, which will hopefully make playing ranked less frustrating as well as make feel like less of a grind.

You do realize it's only a quick reset that will end up with the same problem later down the line

Nah. Not quite. Season 9 segregates your ranks based on the roles you play. If you are a Support main that runs 69% as support but often gets autofilled in roles you suck at, your season 9 rank is going to more reflect your support performance rather than your overall. That means hard stuck 69% Silver supports who run 40% win rates in other roles might actually climb to gold or plat.

And when they do get autofilled/pick a secondary role, it won't impact their support MMR much.

in the end, eventually, we will just circle back to the original problem.

And since in football, just like in League, you are assigned a partner who will always be matched with you no matter when or where you play or how many games he must be present to play so if you get assigned a bad partner who does that you will be doomed forever in all your games preventing you from climbing. And this is how Football and League and every other sport works and is not at all a case of people picking favorite examples of bad circumstances and then holding onto them to forever excuse themselves of any responsibility in their games.

If that is accurate, that means Diamond players load into the game at level 23, compared to level 8, with superior strength, speed, and knowledge that paste isn't a food.

If you have like 50 ranked games total, yes, the skill is more indicitive of your team than yours, unless youre diamond 1+.

If you have 200+, its all you. Well, mostly you.
