PSA: Dealing with (Allied) Yasuo
Blatant clickbait title, check. http://2static.fjcdn.com/pictures/This_4597ce_5703098.jpg
Ok, now that is settled let me get to the point. Yasuo, the fan "favorite" champion of this boards, is more of brought up as an issue when on the enemy team. Personally I see him as a bigger problem for his own team. Any-who, its champ select and one of your teammates highlights this champ, What should you do?
1.) Ask him to not play Yasuo. The direct approach is often the most simple, and you'd be surprised how often this works when you use more pleasant sounding requests like "we need ap" or "we don't have knock-ups." Just don't directly insult the champ or they will play him just to spite you.
2.) DON'T change your playstyle to accommodate him if he's silent. Yes, it is rather selfish to refuse to cooperate with your teammate in a team based game, but somethings biting the bullet is unnecessary. The obvious reason being that if the yasuo isn't up to snuff, then you effectually have two players behind compared to the 1 player should you have stuck with your preferred role. The second being that there are other things that should be more concerning then whether or not you have a knockup. Engage, peel, aoe, damage, and even heals; all these are valid reason that should be put above yasuo's individual needs. Now if the Yasuo asks you to pick a champ better suited to his kit, feel free to switch to a knock champ, but the point I am making is that if the yasuo doesn't say a word and is ok joining a team like this, (
) Then he can't complain when he puts himself in a disadvantage.
3.) DON'T let the yasuo first pick as yasuo. This should be self explanatory, but I will explain regardless cause I like typing. Yasuo, when countered, drops like a sack of bricks straight to the useless tier. All it takes is a heimer, annie, or a competent jungler and that yasuo's day is ruined. Hell, even if the yasuo goes top, the likes of rumble, ryze, and darius exist to ensure he won't have a fun time up there. Ask the Yasuo to please switch with someone to avoid this problem. Only if the yasuo is uncooperative should you take extreme action. Dodge the game if you have the luxury, ban yasuo if you don't. NOTE: this is a last resort action as doing so will tilt a player and for good reason. Don't do this without making the attempt to reason with him and if you do ban him, accept the responsibility and apologies to the player.
This may seem hard and that's because it is harsh and I'm a jerk. Here's a less salty form of advice. Just deal with the yasuo as you would any other champion. So long as the player them-self is not a particular dimwit, there isn't really anything you can really do. Not the best advice I could give, but this kinda applies for all champs and really what did you expect? I'm wood 4.
