From all champion reworks, Aatrox's one is the first to ever disappoint me.

Aatrox's new aesthetics are straight downgrade from his current's:

• The current model has much more details, better/more fitting animations and is less bright, which fits Aatrox's subtle character;

• SPEAKING IN AATROX'S CHARACTER, it was completely erased and replaced by Rhaast 2.0. One of Aatrox's most remarkable characteristics was that he, despite being a darkin, was serene and calm, as a truly ancient being that had been in so many battles that he could archive full tranquility even when in the eye of the storm. That made him different and unique from his kind, a real character's quality. But all of that was ignored, and now, as promised by Riot ("Brutal new VO"), he has become just another generic cringe trash talker.

"I am not your enemy. I am THE enemy." really? This vs "Hesitation is death." or "Rage against the dying of the light." I'll let you decide which one is the dumb one.

• Gameplay wise, it WOULD look pretty good if champions like Riven and Darius was never released before. I honest can't think in abilities more generic and unoriginal than his Q (perhaps the Every X AA mechanic). Not only that, they didn't change his kit; they completely thrashed away it and replace with something that's not even close: from a Auto Attack oriented champion to a Spellslinger.

• His current wings aren't just there: they are banner-shaped to symbolize war. They're another unique trait in his design. Not only his war-symbol wings was ripped off from him, but they've been replaced by generic looking evil wings.

The only positive aspects that i can see in this rework is his splash art and the increase of skill cap + counterplay in his kit. From all champion works that i saw from Riot, this is one of the most disappointing because of how big the gap between the expectations and the results was. I can't be the only one that thinks like that.
