ADC's perceived "weakness": Another contributing factor?

It is general consensus that, in the recent time, non-fed ADCs feel rather "weak", especially in the mid-game.

A thing that might contribute to this perceived weakness is one of the season 5 changes that rarely gets talked about:

In Season 5, base stats do not scale linearily anymore. Rather, earlier levels give you less base stats, while later levels give you more.

The intention here was to tone down the impact of an early level discrepancy, which went quite well imo. However, the downside is that the effect of a level discrepancy from the mid-game onwards gets amplified.

Now, guess who is usually a lower level than the enemy solo laners? The ADC. And said solo laners are more often than not out for the ADC's blood, too.

The impact of the level discrepancy gets even more underlined by the fact that defensive stats scale better with level than offensive ones, which scale better with gold (which might be the reason a fed ADC doesn't feel this weakness).

Could this be contributing to the perceived ADC's weakness? Or am I off track here?

yea but early game is all about the AD and how much hp you have. mid game should be about level and abilties, and team fighting and late game should be about which items you've built, and ADC's have the best item synergy and damage output.

ADC's want items, their abilities and their scaling rarely matter, leading to the mid game weakness, (except for corki and kog maw)

((and twitch))

you would want ADC's to be the strongest throughout the whole game?

Actually, no.

I was merely making an observation, and I think that ADCs are actually in the spot they should be in - carried by their team early and mid, carrying in the late.

adcs are the most threatening in the early game, because they auto attack twice and suddenly you're missing a big chunk of your health. its why bot lane demands supports, or else it would be a one sided feeding most of the time, one would get ahead just a bit, and it would mean certain death for the other.
